Thanks to Kai for picking this movie. I'm glad you enjoyed it, Chance. 💜

I watched this movie a long time ago (I'm spanish) and I loved the fantastic aspect because of the context. The war it's over, and the cruel officers are franquistas (Franco was our own Hitler, he destroyed the democracy and made spanish people kill each other). So in the movie they are killing the last members of the resistance. With this dark panorama, I loved that this fairy tale acted like a way of scaping as a child.

Right? It gives me the same feeling that *What Dreams May Come* gives me.

The way Doug Jones moves is so beautiful I'll never get over it. 🔥💯❤🖤 That was mainly costuming and physical acting.

this and the fall 2006 with lee pace, are just amazing fantasy movies... both sad and visually beautiful

It is deliberately left open to viewer interpretation, whether the magic was real or all in her head. The story works, either way .

Chance, I recommend you react to Pizza Panic Party next. Really good horror short film

While a strange outlier in Guillermo Del Toro's filmography (no autopsy, Ron Perlman, or weird vampires 😉) Pan's Labyrinth is a beautiful dark fairy tale much in the vein of several Terry Gilliam movies. It does have Doug Jones in at least one monster suit (he's the Pale Man for sure), something GDT enjoys profusely. Try Chronos for GDT's debut vampire movie, Hellboy 1 & 2 for more fantastical practical monster make-up, and Shape of Water for GDT's take on Creature From The Black Lagoon. Also the show The Strain, is based on books GDT co-wrote with Chuck Hogan, and has some fantastic vampire lore. Brilliant filmmaker, I'm always excited for whatever Guillermo's next project is.

Loved this movie, went to see it in theaters and it was so worth it. 12:48, Beetlejuice is the biggest movie that draws a door then becomes a real one, but I remember it in other movies, too. Really glad you had fun with it, man. Another great reaction.

Bro, that dog just chilling on the couch at 19:02 is funny as hell. Also this movie is pure kino. Probably my favorite GDT movie. Also editing this comment in case you haven't heard of it, Cronos, the first movie by GDT is also really fun. It's not as good as Pan's Labyrinth, but it has a very young Ron Perlman

I believe Cronos is on my watchlist!

Surprised you've never seen it but I'm not complaining lol I love this movie but haven't watched it in ages so this is great (and thank you for watching the original dub, that's always the best choice imo ;D)

The German population in Argentina consider this film to be a... "laugh out loud buddy comedy for the whole family".
