"They hung that guy from a helicopter!" Fun Fact: They really did hang a guy from a helicopter for that shot. Rather than use a dummy, they actually dangled stunt performer Dick Ziker from the helicopter. The '80s, man...they were WILD. Also, it's hard to feel sorry for Tony, but I always admired the way he went out. I'm a firm believer in "If you're gonna go down, go down in FLAMES!"

@@TheSpartan227 she's, no doubt, dead. for those going through the comments, I've got good news. God is good because He gives His blessings to everyone, whether they be good or bad. but everyone has at least, told a lie, or stolen something in their life. and that makes them sinners, and God will not allow sinners in heaven; in His presence, because He is holy. so, God has to punish the sinners in hell, because God is severe and just. but God is also love and He made a way for some to be saved from His wrath. here are the steps: 1. admit that you're a sinner and are lost. 2. realize that the penalty of sin is death (hell). 3. believe that Jesus (who is God) died on the cross, was buried, then rose from the grave, to pay the penalty for man's past, present, and future sins. 4. trust Christ alone as your Savior, and not on your own good deeds to get you to heaven (nor a combination of your faith and self-righteous works). 5. pray to God NOW that you're accepting Christ's free gift of salvation because if you die before making this decision, it's too late, and you'll 🔥🥵😈 6. and to be a disciple, tell people about Jesus, read the bible, go to church regularly to know God's will for your life.

A LOT of people go into this movie thinking Al Pacino/Tony Montana is some sort of anti-hero, but in reality he is the biggest villain of all. Hypocritical, willing to kill, a slave to greed, the desire for power, willingness to corrupt his family and those he cares about etc….this story is a story of a villain, plain and simple.

I come from a Cuban American family and grew up in Miami. My aunt was living in Miami beach when they were filming that scene where Tony shoots the guy on the street in the bloody shirt. She met Al Pacino and got a signed poster of the movie from him. It's a family heirloom. Most of the outdoor locations filmed in the movie were filmed in Miami and many of those places are still recognizable today. They did a good job at depicting the party life here, the drugs, the culture. It's still the same today.

I've always loved Scarface, and I love 18:45 of this movie so much. It's such a pure moment because of Tony's honesty, he believes it completely. Like a child, that honest. I adore the depth in that line, "The world Chico, and everything in it". I wish Tony lived, great video.

I truly believe my father and Tony Montana are cut from the same cloth of those warriors of old,those who have the belief that can truly move mountains,truly shake the unshakable and manifest into existence. To tell you the story of my father is very ,very long Too too long But though you never asked,that line you said "he believes it completely like a child,that honest". Many alike my dad to scarface,to revolutionary leaders in our country ,to many,many things but haven't I see one person alike Tony Montana having a child like purity. The way it is with my dad ,with it is i reckon for tony,their hearts are as big as the sun,what they believe in their mind and nothing but God can stop them ,when they love someone ,they love totally,my father changed his life from me. Men like them only get humbled by God If tony lived,he would most certainly be a little humbled,little mature God would make him so My father has that belief ,that child like purity ,that vision in his eyes like no other And it's just like the look tony has,it starts from the will to win If tony lived ,let me tell you Nothing in this world except himself would have stopped him His sins would catch up to him Not crimes,sins .

Hey Ash, think about it. Tony had 3 friends during this movie. Manny, Angel and Chi-Chi. Angel is killed during the initial drug deal, Manny is killed by Tony and then Chi-Chi dies locked out of Tony's office, defending him to the end ------- The saddest part is when Tony kills Manny.

when he was criticized by much of the media for not doing any remotely "authentic" accent, like columbian, puerto rican, cuban, etc. he said he was going for the voice of a latin man who learned english by watching television. so by "nailed the accent perfectly", you must mean, for a tv show learner, not of any ethnicity or place of origin.

I don't think he was really trying to get the accent perfectly. He was over-accentuating it to make his character seem larger than life. Steven Bauer sounded a lot more like an average Cuban.

Something I've always noticed about Tony whenever I watch this movie, is that he left Cuba to get away from Castro and to get away from being bossed around all the time. However, when Tony became the boss of a vast drug empire with people under him, he eventually became a Castro himself, so to speak.
@jacquelinecallejas1390
@jacquelinecallejas1390 Жыл бұрын
I always thought he was lying about being a REAL political refugee. He was probably a criminal back then too or his momma wouldn't have instantly known he was a criminal and KILLED someone when he went to visit her. This movie was set during the "Marialito" thing where Castro took advantage of the fact that Cuban Americans wanted to help their anti-Castro relatives join them in the US. Instead of letting real political activists out he really did empty his psych wards and jails. I 100 % believe Tony didn't care what the politics were. It was probably just easier to get away with being a big time drug dealer in the U.S. than in Cuba, so he left. His motivation isn't freedom, it is greed.
@TransBeth
@TransBeth Жыл бұрын
@@jacquelinecallejas1390 I never thought of it like that. I mean, I always knew that Tony had a criminal past because of the prison time and the tattoo and his mom's suspicions about the money, but I never thought of his reasons for coming to the US in that way. It does make sense though, considering Castro released almost nothing but criminals, and also because Tony gave no shits as long as he got rich.
@spiritanimal8836

@@jacquelinecallejas1390 That's exactly what he is. A criminal from Cuba. Castro emptied his jails and sent the prisoners to the US along with the other 100,000 refugees. It literally mentions it at the start of the movie. Tony and Manny met in jail. Tony has the assassins tattoo on his hand. He was also in the army.
