Hello folks! I'm not entirely happy with how I edited this video, BUT this is my 1st time editing a tv show reaction, so please bear with me whilst I figure things out.

Lis: "I'm not good with horror." Me: "Oh my dear, you have no idea what you've got yourself involved in." Yes, there are a lot of jump scares and cliff-hanger endings, but the 80s movies were all about horror, or action, or both. There are a lot of references to 80s movies in this series. Subtitles are good for you so that you can familiarize yourself with all of the different character's names. I will add that the more you watch this show, the more you will get invested in the different characters. And these young actors knock it out of this world.

Don't worry about being more vocal. Reaction isn't all about speaking - - facial expressions, intense concentration, etc., can tell us just as much what you're feeling. Sometimes when reactors talk just to talk, they miss important points they should have been seeing or listening to. I really enjoyed your reaction, and am looking forward to more!

Welcome to the world of Stranger Things! YAY, we love watching new people became fellow fans of this incredible TV show. I just came across your channel today for the first time. I've watched hundreds of KZbinrs reacting to this show. Here's what I've noticed is a common theme - those who talk incessantly throughout the episode tend to miss A LOT of pertinent information or dialogue between the characters. Now, that might be their usual personality quirk or they only get talkative when stressed out or scared, as a form of self-comforting because they feel anxious. They'll ask question after question, knowing full well that we can't give them an answer through the screen unless they're doing a live stream. Some talk so much that they end up missing huge chunks of an important scene & then wonder later "why did that happen? why are they doing/saying that?" Well, if you hadn't flapped your lips nonstop, maybe you would have caught whatever it was you missed because you weren't paying attention... I don't mind that you were overly quiet. This is your first trip into the Stranger Things universe, so it's only natural that you would want to take in as much information as possible to process what you are seeing... Recently a channel I watched all the time switched up his format about mid way through season 3. Instead of watching his reaction in 'real time", he now shows clips & narrates what happened in the chapter. Well, most of us already know what happens, but rather we want to see someone else's reaction, not a voice over summary of the events. With regret, I had to unsubscribe to his channel because it just wasn't the same as watching facial expressions or emotional reactions to certain scenes (scary, funny, or just action packed "eye candy"). I felt like I was now watching an 8 minute trailer for an episode that I've already seen dozens of times. I've been a fan of this show since it first aired, but I'm not a huge horror/scary movie fan either. I loved those types of movies when I was a teen/young adult, but as I've aged, I prefer a good storyline over special effects or just scenes of blood & gore (boring...yawn). I hate jump scares too but The Duffer Brothers don't go crazy with that tactic in this show. Yes, there are some to help add to the story, but it's not over the top like other films & TV shows. I hope you stick with the show because it really is a great series overall - the story/writing, directing, acting performances, set & costume designs are all top notch. There is a reason why this show has gone globally viral & why it has won many awards since it's debut. I started watching only because of Winona Ryder, this being her first TV series & the fact I've been a fan since her early film career. But it was the kids in the show that really hooked me as a fan by the end of this chapter. Their friendship dynamic is everything & the show just gets better with each new chapter/season from here on... I am looking forward to watching your future reactions to this season & beyond - it's an epic journey for everyone, both for show characters & for viewers. By the way "playing hooky" is an old term for ditching class/school day (official term - being truant).

Back in the early 1980’s, it’s very safe to ride a bike or walk home alone in the Middle America. Everyone knew everyone in the small town USA.

The orange light behind me is on purpose, but you can see a part of the back of the ringlight in the upper left corner of the video and that's what drove me crazy whilst editing 😅😂 Also, love you so much for even checking this video out!

Late comment, but hooky in the US means the same as skiving. Enjoying your reaction so far!

I was the same way when I first saw Stranger Things. But I bet, it gets better. Yes, there are a couple jump scares, my kids hate them. They get nightmares when they see the demogorgan. But you grow more with the characters and theirs so much mystery scenes.
