This is my first time watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy so I hope you enjoy the reaction. The two towers has one of the best battle scenes in movie history so this was so much fun to watch.

11:55 you asked who sent the elf army. Haldir said: "i bring word from elrond of rivendel." And at 3:25, you see galadriel telepathically talking to elrond. One of the things she says is: "do we let them stand alone?". So now you're seeing the result.

Remember Theoden probably feel like he's failed, his son and heir died whilst he was taken advantage of and failing to lead his people because of the weird spell thing he was under. He wants to have control again and wants to do the right thing with it, in the face of what looks like a losing battle, a hopeless fight. He is trying hard to do the right thing, and in the end it worked so.. I can't imagine staying in the town would've been better, they'd have been slaughtered.

@@DanzW0rldReacts he is definitely a bit of a blockhead, being arrogant because he doesn't want to take advice or help. but his heart is ultimately in the right place and he is seeking some kind of redemption, even if the fight looks hopeless. It's a lot clearer in the books

In the book Theoden doesn't make the bad decision of leading the women and the childeren to Helm's Deep. Also, Theoden was the one to show mercy to Worm at the guidance of Gandalf.

he was right to not take the advice of aragorn or gandalf, simply because in this case he was right and they were wrong. everything worked out as it was meant to because of the individual strength and determination of theoden tho made the right call and gandalf/aragorn who adapted to his call and helped secure the win. (teamwork makes the dream work). i think the movies paint theoden unfairly as incompetent, many who react for the first time seem to dislike him due to this error in the movies.

In fairness to, well, everybody, Saruman was a really decent ruler for many centuries. He was only recently corrupted by Sauron, via the Palantir.

21:20. Treebeard says his business is with isengard. In the extended edition, pippen (or merry?) sees a bunch of trees moving in the distance, and treebeard says that they, the trees, have business with the orcs. So, the trees have business with the orcs, and the ents have business with isengard.

Worst part he’s not that wrong about Sauron and Saruman, they’re both Ainur, angel like creatures, and they were both Maiar under The Valar Aule, so they kind of have the same dad. The thing is Saruman is just the name the people of Rohan use it just means Wise Man, his actual name is Curumo

It was no accident that Tolkien made Sam like he was... Sam was a gardener. A peon. A nobody. As far as statis goes. But he had the ethics of a saint. Pure honor. From the poor dude. ♡ That speech of Sam's about hope... I have a t-shirt with that on it. ☺

The ents destroyed Isengard which is Saruman’s territory where he was creating those super Orcs (Uruk-hai) whereas Mordor is where the eye of Sauron resides and that’s where mount doom is and where Frodo and Sam are trying to get to

Yeah sometimes Dan says some strange things. I think to myself, does he know what's going on. I'm sure he relises now that Frodo and Sam are going to Mt Doom to destroy the ring. And not to Sarumarns tower. What was he thinking when he said that. Very scarcestic reation, but entertaining.

It's easy to get lost in Middle-earth the first time around. Tolkien provides detailed maps in the book, and the movie provides a quick look when Faramir and his aide talk over the Enemy's strategy. Frodo and Sam were in no danger of being drowned when the Ents flooded Isengard, as they were in Osgiliath, about 500 miles east of Isengard.

1:18 Grima's crying because despite his wickedness, he is still a man of Rohan, and he's finally realized "Oh shit, I'm responsible for the destruction of my people." 2:30 it's not just a horse. It's Brego, Theodrid's (Theodin's son that was killed) horse. The horse Aragorn set free came back for him. 2:55 if she chooses him, she becomes mortal and cannot join her kin across the sea. She will continue live centuries after her man, but she will ultimately die cold and alone. 7:33 idk about the air force but I live next to an army base and that's usually the sound of artillery practice, or some other kind of training with big explosives. 17:04 director cameo (Jackson has a cameo in all three films but if you blink you miss them) 27:06 even Tolkien has stated that even though Frodo is the protagonist, Sam is the hero.

In Tolkien's world, elves can only die in battle or of a broken heart (what Elrond feared would happen to Arwen). So the scene when Haldir looks around and sees all the dead elves, knowing he's about to join them is especially tragic. And Faramir was different in the books. He didn't take Frodo/Sam to Osgiliath in the book

Gandalf didn't make him do this, he volenteered to take the Ring. Just as well, because hobbits don't crave power or riches, they are harder to corrupt than most races. Frodo would have outlasted powerful beings of Middle Earth such as Gandalf and Galadriel because they are powerful and have power now, and it is easy to crave more power if you already have it anyways.

Eomer, the King's nephew who got banished is played by Karl Urban, He was Scourge in Thor Ragnarök, Scotty in the Star Trek reboot movies, and Judge Dredd, among other things. Christopher Lee played Saruman, and has been so many movies, I think he is in the Guiness book of world records. But yes, Count Dooku. Galadriel (the Elf witch) is played by Cate Blanchett who was in Thor Ragnarök, Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, Hiccup's mom from How to Train You Dragon series, among other movies.

I was hoping that you will watch the extended version. So much extra scene about Boromir's past. You could've seen how he cared for his people and the reasons why he fell so easily for the Ring. And... Théoden is not an idiot. He lost his son, and he is still did not collapse. He is s true leader, i hope the Return of the King will make you change your mind about him. There will be a great comparsion beteeen Théoden and the Steward of Gondor

1:27 IMO, he's crying because he all he wanted was to marry Éowyn and become the next King of Rohan. Now she's going to be killed by Saruman's Uruks and there won't be a Rohan for him to be king of. His treachery will be the death of everybody and every thing he's ever known. Plus he has traded a position of respect for being an object of Saruman's constant sneers and derision. Oh, yeah, he has reason to cry, but he did it to himself. 3:10 ETA No. The Elves marry for love and are are fiercely monogamous. There are very few exceptions. When they marry, they marry forever and their souls are joined even if their bodies are killed or if they ever choose to be re-embodied. But by marrying a mortal, Arwen has chosen to follow him where the souls of Men go when they die. Her father will never meet her again. (Elrond's twin brother Elros also chose mortality. He went to wherever men go when they die thousands of years ago.)

@rachelmap100

@@johnwalters1341 Aw, I know. I first read the books back in the 70s. When I saw _The Return of the King_ in the theater in 2003, my reaction near the end was, "But wait! what about _______? aren't they going to show _______? WTF?" And then when I saw the extended cut I was like, "OK, they changed that bit. I'm not sure what I think about it because it was so different in the book." (ETA IDK, possible spoiler follows.) But I think on the whole the changes Peter Jackson et al. made to Saruman and Gríma 's fates and leaving out the scouring of the Shire resonates more with the lives of soldiers who return from war nowadays. They come back; and nobody understands where they've been, what they've experienced, or how they've changed. They don't _fit_ anymore, and they may never be able to again. There are a few things that annoy me about Jackson's movies (the Ents being manipulated into warring on Saruman, leaders yelling "Fire!" when commanding their archers to shoot at the enemy, Denethor not having a palantír...) but I still love them.

Legolas is from Northern Mirkwood, and while the same "breed" of elves of Elrond, his father's realm is populated by elves who haven't been to Valinor yet. So they have slightly different proirites. If you want to see where Legolas (and Gimili, they are neighbors of a sort) are from, watch the Hobbit movies. Thiose movies are not bad, but they go on one movie too far. Shouldn't have been a trilogy. This was Olando Bloom's first movies.

Too bad you didn't watch the extended edition. Has an AWESOME flashback of Faramir and Boromir just before Boromir goes to Rivendell for the council. And, no, you cannot write better than the father of modern fantasy. No one can. Dungeon and Dragons? Inspired by Tolkien. Harry Potter? Who you think Dumbadore is modeled after? Game of Thrones? Martin openly says he was inspired by Tolkien. While there were fantasy books written before Tolkien, none came close to the raw imagery, worldbuilding, and sheer depth than the Lord of the Rings. The books have outsold every printed book in the 20th century EXCEPT the Bible. They are the GOAT before the GOAT was born. And yes, Aragorn makes Chuck Norris a wimp. Aragorn is the Lord of the GOATs. Saruman and Sauron ARE brothers, in a way. So is Gandalf. AND the Balrog. They are Maiar, spirits. BTW not their real names. I mean Aragorn has several names himself: Strider, Elindil, Aragorn, Estel. Aragorn was orphaned at a young age and raised by Elrond, which is his many, MANY times uncle.
