Just wanted to explain BTS members’ ages. Until this year (2023), the way South Korea (SK) calculated someone’s age was totally different from the rest of the world (International Age). Basically, a person would be 1 year old on the day they were born. Then, everyone turned another year older on January 1st each year no matter when their actual birth date was. For an extreme example, TaeHyung (V), was born on December 30th. So, he was 1 year old at birth and then two days later, he turned 2 years old on January 1st. Because SK just adopted using International Age this year, the members have continued to refer to their age in the old way thus far. Jung Kook (JK) was actually 13 years old when he signed with Big Hit Entertainment and 15 when BTS debuted on June 13, 2013. Here are the members’ ages when they debuted. Nam-joon (RM): 18 Seok-jin (Jin): 20 Yoon-gi (Suga): 20 Ho-seok (j-hope): 19 Ji-min (Jimin): 17 Tae-Hyung (V): 17 Jung-kook (Jung Kook/JK): 15 I hope this little tidbit of information helps you in your overall understanding of our guys. From what I heard YoungB was honored & surprised that someone like J-Hope connected with such a vintage song, gladly handed over the copyrights to him so it could live on.* Later, he teamed up with Becky G to remake it with a twist which impressively has a mixture of three different languages Korean, English & Spanish 😭 ITS UNBELIEVABLE now knowing he has now enlisted to complete mandatory military service after JIN previously enlisted and once the remaining members complete their solo projects they’ll also be enlisting toward the end of this year & probably start of next year so that they can try at least make their return sometime in 2025.

@Brad&ChrisH T, RM ,Jin & V first name is not Kim, in the Asian countries like south Korea, Japan, China etc. they put their last name first and their first name last! RM‘s real name and first name is Nam Joon, Jin’s first name is Soak Jin, V’s first name is TaeHyung. They all have stage names that incorporate part of their real names except RM that stands for “RealMe” , J-Hope , Suga ( Solo music projects he is known as Agust D that is Suga spelled backwards & D T stand for Daegu Town where he is from!) Suga does not stand for sugar it stands for shooting guard his position that he played when he was in high school as a basketball player! Suga is the ambassador from South Korea to the NBA he has met the Lakers, the Clippers, the Golden State Warriors he has been to many American basketball games! J-Hope- he helps with the choreography but he is not the main choreographer he is a dance leader for BTS but he is not the main choreographer they have in the house choreographers that help with BTS is dance routines for concerts and performances. This Tuesday April 18 th , J-Hope will be enlisting in the South Korean military, all able-bodied South Korean men must enlist in the military it is mandatory between the ages of 18 and 28 but there is a two-year extension for K-pop idols to postpone their services until the age of 30 he is 29. The reason for mandatory military service is because North in South Korea are not friendly with each other and ever since the Korean War there was no treaty signed they may not be actively fighting but there is an ongoing war between north and South Korea! Jin is the oldest he is in the Military now. JungKook is the Golden Maknae which is youngest in Korean and if it wasn’t for RM he would’ve not joined BIGHIT entertainment company! He looks up to RM as a role model! Jungkook was a trainee at the age of 13 and he debuted at the age of 15 so he was away from home and the other six members of BTS literally helped raised him they took good care of him! JK can do everything!! V-is like an old soul he love Jazz music and loves to sing old songs like Frank Sinatra especially songs from the 40s and 50s! V- also plays the violin too! He was voted by The most handsome face of 2021 & 2022 JiMin was the last to join BTS. He has training and contemporary and hip-hop dancing and he has one of the higher notes as a K-pop male singer! 💜🙏🏼 There’s been a lot that’s been going on since May 2022 hopefully Taylor will make a new video for all the new things that BTS have done an experienced since May 2022?!

In South Korea, the last name is mentioned first then the first name. So for example: Kim Namjoon, his first name is Namjoon and his last name is Kim. There are three members with the last name Kim... Kim Namjoon (stage name: RM), Kim Seokjin (stage name: Jin) and Kim Taehyung (stage name: V). They are not related to each other. All members come from different parts of South Korea. They were formed through auditioning and then underwent training for two years before debuting. Jimin, the last member had the shortest training because he came in 2012. In Korea their last name goes first so V and Namjoon don’t have the same first name they have the same last name. Example:Smith sam That means this persons first name is Sam Also If you guys were confused Hyung means older brother or any male older then yourself that’s why the younger ones call the older members hyung there’s a big age Hierarchy. RM is absolutely incredible. He taught HIMSELF English by watching the tv show Friends!!!!!!!!!! Literally. He is brilliant. He speaks English and sounds American he speaks so well! I absolutely adore these seven guys. Jin is now in the military and J Hope is leaving this week (my bias). I have lived through many "boy bands'" and have never seen one with more multi talented members and members wo genuinely love each other like brothers. These guys are "once in a lifetime"!

21:37 Over the years as they grow older, I think they’ve pretty much overcame some of those fears except for maybe snakes and bugs Lol poor J-Hope … I don’t like bugs or snakes either 😅 22:26 He is already 30 years old and currently in the military until 2025. In the beginning he had to work twice as hard b/c he had zero musical background which many still don’t know but JIN actually thought he was being scammed first couple times when he was approached by BIGHIT, so he rejected their invitations since he was already focused on his acting major during that time but later he decided to accept the scouting invite to BIGHIT. 31:56 This was during times when asian IDOLS and ACTORS competition against each other on #IdolStarAthleticsChampionships which is held (I think) once or twice a year.

Jin is in the military. Since Dec. Korean military is mandatory. JHope went a few weeks ago. They will all be going soon. Since last summer they have been solo projects. Plan to get back as a group after serving 2025. Don't worry there is so much content with these guys it will take years to catch up. Those solo projects will blow your mind too! JHope in Chicago at Lollapalooza. Over 120, 000 tickets sold. Broke records. Jin put out a beautiful message MV before he left. He did a live with Chris Martin/Coldplay who played a huge role in the the Astronaut. Jimin has 2 new songs out. Like Crazy ... first on billboard for a while now! Set Me Free is unbelievable too! Check out live and MV. RM has some new work out too! Still Life and Wild Flowers. You guys will love it! Sugar just brought out his new album. He started doing solo tours. Is actually in New York right now doing solo concert. V and JK are next. Plus, almost all of them are ambassadors to biggest name fashions. Oh, V has been listed as the most beautiful men in the world...multiple times. There are so many RUN BTS variety shows. Those will keep you in stitches! I am sure I missed something here. This is just a touch. They have been crazy busy!

About their names, the last name shown is their first name, so Jeon Jungkook...Jungkook is his first name and Jeon is his last or family name. They do it like that in Korea, and many Asian countries. Also, about the age, Korean age up until recently was about 2 years older than international age. So, for example, Jungkook actually started with Big Hit at Age 13 (not 15) and made his debut as the Main Vocalist for the group at Age 15. They were All young at debut (ages 15 to 20 or 21), which was on June 13, 2013. Suggest you watch Ida S video called Jungkook as the Main Vocalist of BTS (2022 or 2023 update). There is more to the role than just being a great singer.

Even though most ARMY sees them as seven rappers, vocalists, dancers, composers and producers - some continue to hold onto certain info when it comes to the roles. *BTS is a multi-rounded group b/c each member has several different roles, talent and skill set.* 4 RAPPERS RM - main, leader SUGA - main JHOPE - lead rapper JUNGKOOK - sub rapper (he started out rapping early on) 4 VOCALISTS JUNGKOOK - main JIMIN - lead V - vocalist JIN - vocalist JHOPE - sub vocalist (contributes vocally in some songs) 4 DANCERS JHOPE - main JIMIN - main JUNGKOOK - lead V - lead 7:50 😑YES its KIM but its not his first name. It maybe weird to you but their LAST NAMES are called out first and FIRST NAMES are second, for example KIM (family name) and NAM-JOON (first name). *RM is his stage name which stands for “REAL ME” but some continue to think its short for RAP MONSTER / RAPMON but in fact he’s grown out of that name and this guide introduces the members in the order they joined BIGHIT and BTS; when they debuted their ages were 15-19 years old back in June 2013.* Since RM is the leader, he goes first then oldest to youngest.* RM (28) - leader, middle member JIN (30) - oldest SUGA (30) - 2nd oldest, upcoming 30th bday but he’ll be going on a U.S Solo Tour JHOPE (29) - he’s six months older than RM JIMIN (27) - three months older than V but around the same age.
