You should always give new batteries a full charge before useing them for the first time. As the cells may have become imbalanced while in storage and draining them down may damage them

Looks like you both had a blast. I hope all the people watching will appreciate how much work and effort it takes you to set up the camera/go-pro to make such a great video with such beautiful views. And the stopping, setting up the camera, hiking up big hills next to the road or trail just to get a 5 or 10 second shot of the both of you cruising down the road. Lots of work and effort for your trip to and from your beautiful oasis in the wilderness. A super great job to both of you. Yes if possible more air time for your four legged companions. They would have loved to get out there and play but understand that more healing time is needed but the summer will be fabulous for more adventures for all of you. I love you guys and have been watching for a couple of years now. I could not imagine telling my pregnant wife we should ride electric bikes on snow covered roads in the dead of winter to sleep on ice in tiny tent. I think if I had tried that I would not be alive today.

Courtney is one brave lady to go winter camping when in her condition. While the electric bike is possibly the only sort the old chap writing this could use, not for the moment, and only if my recent shoulder repair holds good, though that is not the on;y issue. Still, if you can do such things, perhaps I should try, if better weather ever arrives where I live.

Courtney, when it’s time to go into labour ride the bike down your “bumpy” drive way, or take a bumpy ride in your SUV. That can really help to induce labour. Watching you ride the bike down the road and you mentioning how bumpy it is immediately brought this to mind.

Second M20 video I have seen this morning. Price looks pretty good for what you get. It appears though that the seat height may not be adjustable. I know there are a lot of people on KZbin that just use the power only and it would not pose a problem. I actually enjoy riding my E-bike in pedal assist mode 1 or 2 and not using the throttle. its like always riding down hill and you just don't get tired. That is the cheapest price I have seen for that style bike and the promotion makes it even better.

Just a couple helpful tips 1. Always extinguish your campfire before you go to bed. 2. When cold weather camping, you should always disrobe before you get in your sleeping bag. Put your clothes inside the sleeping bag with you and that way you’ll have warm clothes to put on in the morning.

Idea for next camping trip: 12v cheapo electric blanket (Mine uses 30-50 watts) and one of those power packs you guys tested in the past (1-2kwh)...Inside a sleeping bag or two zipped together it creates warmth all night for no matter how cold it gets. Second idea: You guys are going to definitely have to engineer an off road capable eBike "camper" or 2... I've seen a couple really nice designs around the Tube.

Her horn is louder than Your horn... LOL! When I rode a street bike (Motorcycle) I adjusted the horn and made it REALLY loud. One day this poor old guy in his 70s started coming into my lane. he didn't see me so I honked my horn, that poor guy almost ran up and over the curb and onto the sidewalk! Scared the holy bejesus out of him. I kind of felt bad for him, but he didn't hit me, so it worked! I REALLY miss my 85 Honda VFR 500 V4 cyl Crotch Rocket. I got 44 mpg on the hwy at the speed limit (55 mph). When I rode at 70 I got 55 MPG! I rode from Beaverton, OR to Spokane, WA on it and back! That got spooky around John Day Dam in the Columbia Gorge with the bad crosswinds! I went from one lane to the other in a split second, glad a car wasn't beside me!

I only once, unintentionally went "winter" camping. It was Labor Day weekend, so still summer, but I was camping in the central Oregon high-desert. It got bitter cold at night and snowed! I was so incredibly cold since it was supposed to be a summer camping trip.

I'm impressed that there was a charge left on the batteries after a cold night. I would like the utility / cargo bike. I want to get groceries, but worried about theft of it while shopping. I've used a tarp under the tent for 50 years, but it needs to be smaller or fold under the tent. To keep water from collecting where you don't want it. I'm surprised you went winter camping in a summer tent.

That was so much fun to watch! A North Idahoan here who has camped all over North Idaho in a tent and for the past 3 years an RV). And yes, we've even camped in the snow in a Walmart tent, just like yours. We only camped in the snow once, but it was a crazy adventure we'll always talk about for years to come. This summer, you guys should camp on the west, north end of Priest Lake (like at Beaver Creek or Muskegon Lake) and ride those bikes all the way up that road to the border. I'd be interested to see how well those bikes do up that road in the summer.

It's great to see you so happy. For winter camping, insulating pads (i.e. foam mattresses) under your sleeping nags are a must. Also use winter sleeping bags rated below 0C. These can be rented. You should be confortanly warm in yous underwear inside the sleeping nags.

You need to get a thermarest backpacking air mattress,or at minimum ensolite pads. The thermarests are more compact and less bulky.

In bear country i use the Ozark Trails tent for storage. Beer,food,wood ya know the extras. And sleep in the back of the pick up w/topper (canopy) if your a west coaster. Courtney enjoy roughing it, ya both be straped down with the boy soon. Riley s new project..lumber mill/ tailings for heat.

Just a little tip on ebiking. I'm a very experienced cyclist (and motorcyclist) and I was riding my ebike with a pack on. The thing is even with only a little bit more speed you dont' realize how much more inertia you are carrying - ESPECIALLY with a pack. I did something that would have been fine on a bicycle but the result was a lot more like a motorcycle. I dislocated and broke so many bones. It's hands and knees when you fall off; head injuries are relatively rare. Luckily I'm Canadian so I just had my friends drive me home and I eventually got the finest surgeon in BC to rebuild my hand for me. In the US I would have been bankrupted. But, yeah, respect it like a motorcycle.

I went winter camping one time with my much-more-adventurous son... now I can say, "Been there, done that!" Not planning to do it again! The worst part of camping is taking down the tent...then having to put it up again when you get home to dry it out...then take it down again! Can you tell I'm not a huge fan of camping? We did it a lot when our kids were young, but I much prefer our cabin!

i love your videos- they have great content- they include infectious non stop smiling and chuckles (Riley !) things you do are things that would be awesome to take on instead of watching it- but i dont have the tools or opps you guys have- as for the winter camping - strangely within the last week a video appeared in my pickings- a tent- in a tent winter camping- mind you i dont think it was for only 1 night- if the winter camping sticks (once Boone (?) ) is healed and ready for snow treking maybe its an idea to look into for warmth. ! :)

Riley, You need to get a couple of sleeping bags that can zip together! That way you and Courtney can cuddle right up and she won't have to worry about staying warm. Also, Don't make the same mistake most people do. DO NOT WEAR YOUR CLOTHES in the sleeping bag. you will be much warmer if you only wear underwear or go A la natural! I have never used the modern MRE heaters. I am impressed they make steam in side the bag. The MRE brownies will seem better after 10 years without electricity, cooking on open fires and living in caves ... ;-)

When I was at army, slept outside in snow on camp bed, no tent, in sleeping bag, but nude, you don't feel cold because air pocket between skin and bag.
