I am 62 and just starting to find out things that I use to do I'm having a little bit of trouble getting done with that same ease. I got a Z254F special edition 4 weeks ago, mowed my 5.5 acre horse property that has no horses. it did great, the pastures had not been cut all summer, were 2 ft tall grass and weeds. Had to make two passes in the deep stuff but the whole place looks like a lawn now. The engine is very powerful. Mine has the 23 hp Kawasaki. Very happy with it.

@@hisaddle do you mean 28 hours or 2 x 8 hour sessions? 'cause 28h is ages mate!! (well so is 16 but...) Must have been thick. Only asking as I just bought 5ac myself, hoping it doesn't take quite that long haha.

Yes it took multiple sessions over a week, during the weekend and after work, it was very thick and high and took two passes. The first pass very slow. Next summer will cut it when the pastures are about 6 inches and will probably go very quick.

I just got mine. I've scuffed up several young trees and almost took out a gate. Only complaint is it don't like banks. Other than that it has taken an hour and a half off my mowing. Love that!

Back in the day we had those Walkers , same thing just yellow with a collector . I asked my buddy ," how do you do it with one hand ?" He says ," you just !" When you pull the seat forward, do you see an extra wire with a male head on it not attached to another wire. I have the same model as you. Everything runs fine and works. I inherited the mower from my Father who passed away.

How is the traction on hills? Is there any frame flex? I read a lot about the Deere's slipping and flexing.

I don't do hills too much. Danny is the one that goes on any hills and he doesn't seem to have too much trouble. But he has run a zero turn for many years.

They are fun especially being able to turn on the spot, saves so much time when you have a lot of land to do. I used to use one of these for my job mowing empty lots of acres and acres. I killed two of them in one day once

Been thinking of a zero turn. We are on a hillside and it's very uneven. Not sure if you could stay on the seat. We mow with an 8n and a 72 inch finish mower works good but the wife doesn't like to get close to objects .

Just imagine you are pushing a grocery cart when you are trying to steer the handles. That’s how the salesman told me to learn how to mow with a zero turn mower. It really helped me get the hang of of handling mower. Hope that helps.

Look at the Electric PTO on the John. Deer and see if that's the problem If y'all have checked all the belts and pulleys and it still wont-work. You should take the deck off and use it tractor

Nerve cut your lawn with the blades in number 1 position unless you are on golf greens. Plus wheels on the deck should be adjusted on new machines to your cutting level other wise the deck will dig into the ground. I'm not an expert but was told this by a Husqvarna dealer.😊

So proud for you, great video. Please find some hearing protection you feel comfortable with, and always wear eye protection - even if it's just sunglasses. Best up close cutting is with the left side of the deck, loose that grip just a tad, and keep the moving parts greased. Enjoy!

If you keep this one in the shed, clean it after each use and do the regular maintenance on it, it will last you for ten years, rather than 2yrs, like the others. Fix things when they break, or when they go wrong, and you won't have to keep buying new mowers.
