So good to see the Ape back, such a nice bike. Understandable that you thought the tyre was a bit poo until you realised it was the bearing. The ol green lanes never fail to make me jealous. You don't seem very rusty to me ya big silly goose :D It does look a fair whack taller than the Vstrom actually now you mention it. I think I'd love a Tuareg tbh. Easy trails are the ones I want to try :D I must see can I find any for the Big Strom. Q&As are always good. I'll think of some and come back :) There's a big place here that's all offroad, if I got a dirt bike I'd 100% give it a go. That is rather slimey. I think TC is good for certain areas, if you need to be spinning up the back it could be the reason for a little nap in the sand of course, whatever makes you most comfortable is the "correct" thing eh. Some people just suck, and some people hate motorcycles sadly. Great to see you back on on the Tuareg :)

I really enjoy riding it, but it is quite heavy still for the trails, it is all fine until I lose balance and need to either hold it up, or pick it up if I drop it... I need to get fitter, get some muscles back... I guess dropping it might help there! 😀 I feel bad for slating the tyre, don't get me wrong, all tyres with dirt focus are noisy on tarmac, so they still have some noise, but the bike is so much nicer to ride on tarmac now. You should see how technical the trails are and have an explore on the Strom 🙂 When I was up in Yorkshire, and when I was in the deep dry sand was the times the TC has held me back the most, it seems to work quite well in mud for finding grip, but sand is a bit too much for it to deal with. Ta mate, it was awesome to get out on it again 🙂

Ahhh the woes of owning multiple bikes and the maintenance that goes with it. Glad to see the Tuareg back on the road and what a first ride back, just jump right in aye. I was holding my breath through all that slimy stuff as much as you may do when I'm riding through loose sand. My Question for the QA would be: What 1 or 2 bikes have you got rid of that you regret or miss and would you consider purchasing a newer version of one.

Aye hahaha... I am loathed to bin tyres with life in them, but also hate having to wait for tyres to wear out so I can fit better ones! 😀 I really needed some dirty time, was very wobbly, especially at the start... but am looking forward to finding my dirt legs 😀

Aye, I was getting quite sulky not being able to ride the trails through summer... but the slop is a lot more of a challenge 😀 Am still working out if it is what I want to do, but I hate having it and not riding it, same issue with the V7 in it's end of days... and that got sold, so I do imagine when I come to terms... the Beta will go too 😞

Brilliant lane that. I never really got into off-road riding much, but love watching the videos. When you get chance ask Mike (Kates Bf) to show you his dirt bike stuff, hes mental at off road riding. My own experience at off road riding is riding off road is when i had the versys 650 i gave it a quick try and wasnt great at it, but also i tried a quad and fell off then ran myself over 😂😂

mitas trail xt+ for front is good. some say better then the motoz dualventure because of the lug design on the sides ive got the mitas rear too, want to try the rallz or desert h/t next year maybe when the weather is a bit better :)
