In this video we see some of the South Coast Rail testing on the New Bedford Line. This video is different because this was the first time any train had operated over the restored passing siding over Malbone St. south of Myricks Junction. The second mainline on the New Bedford line was removed in 1949 and some sections were kept as passing sidings. Myricks retained a section as a passing siding for some time but it was eventually removed. Now the siding is back in place between Malbone St. and Cotley Junction in Taunton and this was the first time any train had used it in decades! Stay tuned for more testing videos throughout the week.
