Your thrust override is set to a group. So when you used it all of your thrusters were on. What you want to do is put just the back one on the override. That way the rest of them are off and only the back thrust is firing. Hope this helps.

33:07 what I personally do is build a base, do some basic exploration, go into space, that kind of stuff. Then, I build a mega ship with refineries for every single material, a sorting system to make sure that works, assemblers, welding wall, hanger, etc. an entire base. And I build it on the highest gravity planet to make sure that it can fly anywhere. Then I make more specialized large grid ships.

Just a small tip as soon as you break atmo when entering space, make a GPS marker so you can know abouts where to re-enter on your way home. It cuts down on travel time.

I stayed on Earthlike for quite a while, then went to space and visited other planets and stayed there for quite a while, too. Currently I'm building an asteroid base between Earthlike and Mars. It's gonna have pipes wrapping around the asteroid like tentacles. Haven't been to Earthlike since I left. Been years now. I'm looking forward to returning back to home base. It's where my SE-journey started. When I return, I will have conquered the stars!

Looking great so far I’m still not sure if I should just carry on playing or restart, I am extremely excited though. The only issue building on the ice is it won’t replenish so eventually you will need to find another ice source.

@@SurvivalBobGaming your welcome I enjoy watching others as I can get ideas and learn, I’m looking forward to see where you take this play through. I normally build a space base but the new faction seems aggressive so the added protection of an asteroid could be a good choice. An idea: may be build an ISS intermediary outpost so you can move yourself and materials between the planet and space easily plus you will be able to make electricity and air (oxygen farm) on a permanent basis then see where your imagination takes you.

If you want to spend less time gathering ores, you should make both of your refineries have 4 yield modules each. There really is no need for any other types on a planet based refinery.

Power modules are not needed when you have turbines that will never stop providing power. Speed modules will still take the same amount of ore, but only give you the same amount of ingots faster.

To answer your last second question: I try to create a scenario where I start on Earth Like, then move to the moon, and so on. The Mod: "Procedurally Generated Ore" really enforced that, as you can only get the basic minerals from the Earth Like and eventually must move on.

Yep, you royally messed up the thruster overrides. You just burned all your hydrogen with side thrusters... You can even see it in the video. You should apply override only to your big thruster on the back.

@@SurvivalBobGamingYou were thrusting against max speed for longer than you needed to. You should reduce your overides before you hit max. Also coming to a complete stop, changing direction then speeding back up is a big fuel guzzler. Just point where you want to go then go. Only turn on dampeners in space when you are coming in for a landing, or manuevering around an asteroid.

if you got thrusters damage turned on those thrusters reverse will damage your drills using override uses twice amount fuel that first ice asteroid perfect base lol oopps that a problem do not need ship got jet pack lol

You can double click the GPS markers to show or hide a marker...it is quicker then clicking the Show on HUD box.

You burned so much hydro because there is a speed limit. You kept the thrusters burning full tilt but was gaining nothing just wasting fuel. Should of feathered it. But you made it and it's just ice

You don't need to override ALL thrusters, only the rear one, you are wasting ice unnecessarily. Going to space for ICE?? Have you heard of mountains with SNOW on Earth like planets????

Remember the thrusters override Group needs to only be your forward trusters (Not all thrusters)

This override trick works with jetpack as well. If you start jetpacking directly up and turn off dampeners, you can manually keep your speed between 90 and 100 m/s. This way you can get to space with only one H2 bottle.
