First Tsunami Waves Hit Japan After 7.6 Magnitude Earthquake
Tsunami waves hit Japan's coasts after a series of powerful earthquakes. The strongest earthquake measuring 7.6 struck Ishikawa prefecture in central Japan. Authorities say hazardous waves up to 5 metres were expected. The Japanese MeT office said that 21 earthquakes above 4.0 magnitude hit Japan.

It’s amazing how the Japanese have built their buildings to withstand earthquakes. That parking garage was visibly wiggling, as were all the cars swaying dramatically, but it didn’t collapse.

I’m amazed at how well everyone reacted. Still, my heart goes out to Japan. I’m terrified of tsunamis and scared of bad earthquakes. It makes me sad seeing all of this happen, but it’s incredible to watch how everyone comes together and works it out. Then picks up where things have fallen. Stay strong Japan! I'm from Hokkaido. I believe that the many thoughtful comments about Japan will encourage the victims of this disaster. I would like to thank you here on their behalf. Since the affected area is in the middle of winter and heavy snowfall, it is especially difficult to spend time in shelters at night, and the level of requests for assistance is expected to be very high. I am sure that many people will start to call for donations and volunteers for the reconstruction of the affected areas, and I would be very grateful if you could give them a little bit of your heart.

When it said chaos in in train station, i was amazed to see thats what they mean by chaos. no panicking, people calmly moving to safety. Japan people are truly highly discplined. That was not chaos at all. That was organized mitigation of losses. Since its Japan, i am confident, that the country will be back up and running normal, from the next day, touchwood. You educate, you remind people that earthquakes are a reality and to not be scared of them but to be prepared, be aware. The sincere encouragement of many friends around the world always gives us hope for recovery. It's like a ray of light shining into the darkness. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our dear friends around the world. In Japan, people have been trained since childhood on what to do in the event of an earthquake. Even so, in an earthquake larger than 5 on the Japanese seismic scale, it is difficult to even stand or move. Quickly bend over and keep your center of gravity low. However, the real fear is the tsunamis, fires, landslides, etc. that will occur afterwards.

The whole world needs to learn discipline from Japanese people. I was staying in Japan for four months.Tsunami is the most dangerous natural phenomenon still, Japanese people and children follow all the rules they often practice. Staying calm and attending to group needs is their number one rule. In the western world end of year sales are much more chaotic than life and death situations in Japan. As a European it was extremely surreal to witness their orderly manner without showing selfish behaviours. They move quietly and wait quietly. Love them so much.

Spent a week in Japan last summer. Amazingly industrious and resilient people🇯🇵. Climbed Mt Fuji and didn't see trash on trails. No energy needlessly wasted dealing with locals who actively harm their fellow citizens (didn't see any grafitti. bicycles needn't be locked outside stores, etc). Wish at times Americans could be so unified 🇺🇸. Prayers for our great friends in Japan. Couldn't wish for better allies.

The Japanese people are the most calm and restrained people in a time of crisis. I applaud their composure in a situation where the rest of the worlds population would panic. Then they evacuate a burning airliner the next day in complete calmness, where not a single person was seriously injured.

Japanese people are tough. I have no doubt that once the shock wears off a bit, you will all be able to work together in a way that I in the US can only envy. Help will be on the way from all over. Hang on for just a bit more! Edit: Please ignore those trying to use this as an opportunity to frighten you into following their religion. They are not sincere, only opportunistic. My thoughts are with you and may your home and its citizens recover quickly.❤

Prayers to the people of Japan. Keep strong & healthy. Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. I am living in Japan, and I am at a place near Nagoya.many people were celebrating and having a party, then suddenly a huge quake arrived then changed many people’s lives in just a few minutes. People got hurt, and got rescued to the hospital, but since It’s New Year’s Day,many doctors and nurses were absent from work, and it was hard for people to get treatment. So the doctors and the nurses tried to get to the hospital as fast as they could, but because of the earthquake, there were a lot of bumps on the road and ground subsidence, and most of the doctors and nurses couldn’t get to the hospital. A place that makes famous traditional lacquerware (sort of like a bowl) got totally destroyed and the Main Street got burned down by a fire. And even that is terrifying,a 1m20cm tsunami came. Many fishing boats got flipped over, and over 50 reports of people getting trapped in their collapsed houses. Even a 5-6 story Building fell to the side, and even landslides occurred. Many aftershocks occurred after this and an Emergency Earthquake Early Warning comes every 20-30minutes,although normally it only happens around 0-1 times a year normally.many stores lost everything, houses lost everything in a very short amount of time. And a major tsunami warning came for the first time in 14years. I really hope the people that lost their homes and family will be safe, and feel better.
