@mudmagic407 thank you so much for watching. The rainbow tree was my fave of the Christmas trees too. I have three more kiln unloads going up tomorrow, I am a bit slack at getting the editing done in a timely manner at the moment. Hopefully I can improve on that soon. Xx

Hiya fellow Australian, always nice to see Aussie content. WA is on the otherside from where I'm located in Canberra Australia. So many wonderful pieces the Christmas trees are so beautiful, Mugs and mushies too. The glaze work looks great and you mentioned that you use two coats. In saying that, everyone's coat thickness are different. So I'm assuming that you do two thick coats. Anyway......... thanks for sharing and happy potting. From a newbie clay player
@janesshoeboxstudio58292 ай бұрын
@MeandmyfireflyEZCreations thank you for watching. It's funny but I don't do thick coats at all. Mayco especially I have found only needs two coats. Some Amaco glazes I do three. I do wonder if everyone is just going with three because that has always been the done thing like it says on the bottle? Maybe two coats won't work for everyone, but it does for me ☺️

What gauge and alloy of wire are you using at what cone? I think you said cone six. I used some I thought was made for high fire only to open the kiln to find they had slumped. Thank you for the inspiration!
@janesshoeboxstudio58292 ай бұрын
@avermontlife I can't remember the gauge of the really thick wire I used on the Boosheet balloons, I can measure the thickness for you today though. It is a nichrome wire made for high temperatures.

@avermontlife I just measured, from what my shocking eyesight can tell it is about 1.4 millimetres thick. Hope that helps 😊
@avermontlife2 ай бұрын
@@janesshoeboxstudio5829 Thank you again. I also learned that I can try to weigh the ends of the rods down so that they do not slump. Cheers!
@janesshoeboxstudio58292 ай бұрын
@avermontlife oh, you were asking about the wire holding the charms. That one is actually more like 2-3 mm I think. Just be careful you don't hang too many things from one piece. Spread them out and use three kiln posts to hold one wire if necessary. As in a kiln post, two of your glazed pieces, another kiln post, two more glazed pieces then another kiln post at the end. I hope that makes sense?
