FIRST WASH in YEARS! 1973 Ford Pinto Squire Wagon - Will this ABANDONED Wagon SHINE Again?
Check Out this video: • Will They START and DR...
Check Out the RevStories Channel: / @revresale
Operation: Make NikkiT like it! - My wife is not fond on my two new Ford Pinto purchases. I know that I need to clean them up to change her opinion. Can I make this horribly dirty 1973 Ford Pinto Squire shine again after many years of neglect. Will NikkiT be willing to ride in it after this? Will either of my kids have the desire to drive these? All these questions answered on this episode of RevStoration.

Back in late 80's, a neighbor of mine bought his wife a new car and decided to sell her old car rather than trade it in. At that time he asked me if I knew of anyone who might be interested, and I said "Yeah, me!!!" It just happened to be a 76 Pinto Runabout hatchback"! He was thrilled and so was his wife because her car was just moving next door and she knew I would take care of it! I LOVED that little car and had it for atleast 4 years and drove it to work everyday! That car never let me down!!! It finally rusted apart and I had to junk it! I was so sad that day!!!

Back in the late 80s my dad bought a 1987 Mercedes 190e and it was a really beautiful black car with cream leather interior. My dad bought my mom a brand new Ford Tempo. Before that she was driving a 1986 Audi 5000s diesel 5 speed manual. We loved that Tempo. Then in the early/mid 90s my dad bought a brand new 1994 BMW 525i in deep burgundy with a cream leather interior and I LOVED that car. My mom got the Benz. She also had a 1987 Saab 900S turbo that she sold, and she was in the process of selling the Tempo, but when I was 11 I drove that car around town for a few and nobody ever knew. She sold it, we moved to Brandon, Florida on Christmas day of 94. Then, when I was 14 (1998) my dad went on a business trip to California and I drove his BMW to school with no permit or license, and while I was on my way home the clutch went out. I pushed that car for almost 3 miles on my own, until a pizza delivery driver and a Saint Petersburg cop stopped and helped me push it up a slight incline into the mouth of our subdivision...lol The cop never asked me for my license or anything, he was awesome and very helpful. My dad shouldn't have owned a car with a manual trans because he couldn't drive a stick all to well. Granted, neither could I, but I could drive that car better than he could...lol Nowadays both of my cars are a manual trans. I don't enjoy automatic cars...

I bought a 1977 Pinto Hatchback from Oklahoma. It was a grey/silver factory paint. The Oklahoma sun had baked the finish to almost a sandy grit. Brought it back to Michigan and had it rubbed and detailed. It's quite amazing how a gritty surface nightmare can go to a shiny look. Kudos to you and "Shrek" !!

To clean glass like that I always use straight white vinegar on the inside and outside it makes a real difference. And when you wash the windows use newspaper to dry it it keeps it from streaking. Well the old Pinto squire never had it so good. Those little four banger engines always seem to run great. Thanks for another great video and God Bless you and your family.

Great Vid! Takes me back, My moms BFF had given her son her old pinot wagon when the New Granada came out.75?... The lil pinto wgn was in harvest gold with the Squire treatment. It was the first Hot Rodded pinto i had seen as he tricked it out as a High school kid could do working at a Sub shop. He added wide Aluminum wheels on it, stereo and a Thrush muffler on it. I was in awe as a 9 year old...lol Keep em on the road! I'm a genuine car guy... I love em all! Thanks, Mike

Good car, Rev. My dad bought a darker green Pinto wagon new in 1976. It wasn't a squire, though. It was an "MPG" which was a package for several other Fords, too. I don't know what the package included, or , more likely, excuded, but I know it came with the 4 cylinder and four on the floor. I never got to drive it even once. My dad drove it for a couple of hundred thousand miles and was satisfied with it. Some of the resistance to Pintos is based on their reputation in the 70's as mainly a car that people owned who couldn't afford a better car. And some of it is based on the "Pinto exploding gas tanks" reputation. But, I'm surprised Nikki T is resisting because she is to young to have been alive during those times. And, if anyone else is wondering, the wagon was NOT affected by the gas tank problems. And, there are cures for the hatchbacks and coupes to make them as safe or better than any competitive subcompact of the era. I think Pinto and Mustang II are "fun" cars and I'd expect your teens would enjoy them when they are ready to drive.

@@katj6488 The first thing you want to make sure the window is cleaned with windex really good then take and put some Laquer thinner on an applicator and rub it and if that doesn’t take it off then try white vinegar and do the samething put some on an applicator and if that doesn’t work the only thing next to do is put some compound on the window and try to buff it out. I’ve had to do all three one time to get a car windows back to life. That fog is caused from rain and sitting under a tree.

Being a Buffer for several years, I would suggest a regular rotary buffer and some gritty cutting compound, then go to a medium to fine compound, then use the orbital for the waxing, the results would be greatly improved... and also use the gritty on the glass, and give it the Onions with plenty of elbow grease. It's really turning around though and looking good!!! ✌🙏❤

What a trip it was to see that 63 Fairlane. We talked about this before. However, that was my 1st car. A hand me down from Mom. A four door Fairlane 500, with a 2 speed, 221 V8. It had less than 7k miles on her. It was driven an old lady. Who only used it for church on Sunday and short errands during the week. My old man got her a 2 door 74 Torino with a 351 Windsor. The Fairlane got handed down to my brother(God rest his soul). I got a 73 Gremlin X with a 232 straight 6 and a 3 speed stick. So my journey into independence started with a Fairlane. Wish I still had it . Keep up the good work, my brother. My health is slowly improving. Please pray for my continued recovery. As I pray for you and your channel, which I love. Thank's Kenny.

Try spraying the glass with White Vinegar & Blue Dawn Dishsoap mix 5 ounces of White Vinegar & 1 Tablespoon of Blue Dawn Dishsoap together in a spray bottle and add some water until full. Spray it heavily and let it soak for at least 30 minutes then throughly clean it off, sometimes two applications are needed if it's really baked on... Give it a try... It really works great for getting your glass extra clean. Good Luck & Thank you again for the great content. Cheers!

Hi guys, I once had a perfectly good spare wind shield for my falcon get stained and fogged just like yours after being stored several years along side my house uncovered. It got covered with oak tree leaves and twigs. The tannic acid from the leaves did it. I wish i could remember what I used to clean it. I do remember it involved alot of elbow grease. A power buffer like yours would probably make it alot easier. Good luck!

Looking at where you got these cars came from and how easy it was to start them, the first owner liked Pintos and they were parked in running condition. I watch documentary on the Pintos and found the it had many modern features but were taken out to meet Ford's price point for the car. One of the features was a puncher proof bag in the gas tank which may have save the brand, but the report may have got the owner to park his maybe. It take a big hit to even get close to the tank. The News of the time killed the Corvair, then went after the Pinto, and then after the C10 pickups. 60 Minutes got in trouble for the pickup. The car is looking good and looking forward to seeing the inside cleaned up.

Love the cars, the channel, and the family - friendly platform. The Pinto series brings back some great family memories. My folks bought a brand - new 1973 white on orange Pinto Runabout. Dad ordered it with every option available then (not a lot available) and it had orange racing stripes down the sides and down the hood. Inside it was orange shag-carpeting, 8 track am/fm stereo, and my sister and I could sleep in the back with the seat pulled down. (we were little then). But Dad said "it just won't run right!" My best friends Mom bought this exact same car new and we bombed around in it for over 200K before He was old enough and it became his first car. We recovered the dash with pool table felt! Sarape blankets for seat covers and the 2.3 just kept on pluggin' for another 100K until it was sold to an even poorer guy who drove off into the sunset!

I can't believe you set that battery on the fender. Those fenders are so thin that it's a good way to damage it. I learned the hard way with mine way back in the 70's. Tried to repair but kept oil canning on me. Motor sounds pretty good and I would live to have the Runabout. The sound of that engine brings back great memories for me.

In 1993 I found myself booted from the military, 20 years old. Kicked out of the house and I took 300 bucks and bought a red pinto station wagon. I lived in it for about a year. In a small town word gets around and I lost every friend I had. But you know what, I’d love to have one of these now as a project.

Despite its color factor, I'm amazed how great that starts and runs. I'm curious if you're going to put some shag carpeting in it. I'm sure Nikki T would drive it to work if you did that. LOL 😆 🤣 😂. I still love and enjoy all of your videos.

That model was my very first car. I bought for $50 with a blown trans. I loved that little car. I wish I still had her. My little VA disability pension doesn't allow for a restoration project or buying something road worthy. I pray you find her a good home. Snow Pea will roll again.

Oh yeah the old Ford Pinto, my dad had five of them, three out of the five were runabouts and the other two were squire wagons and one of the squire wagons was a Mercury Bobcat with a V-6 in it and it would fly, and my mom had a 1977 sky blue Ford Pinto runabout, I was a little kid back in the mid 1980s(1985) when they had those automobiles😊❤👍
