As others have already said, always have a couple of tubes of Sikaflex onboard, ‘the black nasty’ - it’s the most incredible, essential stuff. There are lots of different number variants but generally, the higher the number the later the version, and the more advanced it is. It’s up to 5** now but I get by with the standard 221. It’s a stronger than nails glue / waterproofing sealer. Be warned - it’s so sticky it gets EVERYWHERE! But a wipe with alcohol before it sets removes mistakes.

@@CutSluice good luck. ive just fixed a leaky water tank pipe fitting, seems there is more risk of sinking from water from above than from water below 😄

Your filming style is calming, really enjoy the relaxed vibe. Curious about your move to a narrowboat - what inspired the change? Greetings from Scandinavia.

Sikaflex 291. Designed for marine applications. I've used it on transducers below the waterline. Hope this helps.

Sounds great. I’ve also been told about CT-1, have you had experience with it?

Friendly advice....install a deck fitting so that you don't have to rely on sealant. Thanks for the vlogs.

Thanks Nigel. I’ll look into the best way to sort it long term during the spring / summer… I’m a newbie so always learning! Advice is always appreciated, especially when it is friendly!

Like, a rubber grommet ? Only I think I know s/one else who installed a roof-mount solar panel, and maybe no sealant or grommet. Don't wanna come across as a naggy Aunt Sally though

Hi Interesting stuff and duly subsribed! Two questions if you don't mind! 1.Whats the origin of your channel name? 2. How does your coffee gizmo work? kbo chap!
@CutSluice8 ай бұрын
Hi Bryan, Thank you very much, it is very much appreciated. The origin of the channel name is a slight play on the term cut loose, as I am fairly recently divorced. Is the word cut is a nickname for canal… it refers to the fact that it is a waterway that has been cut out of the land. And the word sluice comes from sluice gates which are a mechanism to control the flow of water and these are used on the canal systems as well. The coffee contraption is called a percolator, I would probably need to make a video on how it works rather than a comment on here as I think I am better at describing it visually.

Hmm. Should i buy silicone sealant to put behind the wall studs in my apt. Would the water just lead further down. Yes, it would. However, fantastic fix - you must be pleased

Yup. Very pleased. Could have been as bad as the heating fiasco 😂

I’ve so many questions! Does it have a name? Did it come with bargeware? Have you got those painting things on the doors? How many locks have you been through? Have you lost a lock key yet?! You should definitely invest in a fishing rod, and also, get a magnet for magnet fishing!!
@CutSluice10 ай бұрын
The boat is called Red October. No bargeware. I have brass badges on the doors. I have been through something like 20 locks in Red October… most were skinny locks - rather tight! Not lost a lock key yet. I have a magnet… I may fish at some point!
