Absolutely agree. I almost went to Da Nang but chose Nha Trang as it’s in the south so better weather in autumn and more sun. Many people I meet here actually prefer Da Nang more… but so far I’m happy with Nha Trang! 🥰 the cost of living is amazingly affordable although I think it’s gonna change in the next few years …. You look like a movie star (this is a serious compliment), have you ever tried Hollywood? Nha Trang or Da Nang are great coastal cities for living long term. The only drawback at the moment is you have to do visa run as Vietnam does not have a long term visa for digital nomad or expats yet. Hope you enjoy your long stay in Vietnam.

Vietnam, Cambodia, and The Philippines are the most affordable Southeast Asian countries. I advise everyone to get to know the locals in these countries and try to rent an apartment from an apartment rental company because it will be much cheaper than getting one on a booking website.

The city center is a great area to stay, though it can be a bit busy and noisy at times. For me that energy was exactly what I wanted ahah. I enjoy being right in the heart of everything, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of daily life

Nothing new, Booking.com :) but you only make reservation without paying, and I’d highly highly recommend you ask them to show you the property or the room BEFORE you pay anything :)

Thank you!! I have so many videos yet to post including the food and my reactions! I love seafood, I don’t enjoy too much yellow cheese on top of sea food (like grilled oysters with cheese). Few days ago I even get to try raw shrimps ahah I was hesitant but it tasted good and luckily no stomach issues 😂😂 generally I love it and I think squid is cooked so good in Vietnam, I never ate so much good squid!

I remember thinking of Brazil when I was there, in 2010, because of the “big/proper city + long-long sandy beach” combination. I’m going back to Vietnam in a few weeks, this time for three months (thanks to their change of policy, which now lets us spend up to 90 days on the same e-visa), and I’ll definitely be including Nha Trang in the itinerary. Enjoy. PS Good, vvvery good, to see that prices remain perfectly reasonable. Useful info, especially for people who are visiting soon.

⁠@@RebelDiaries101yeah that was a decision for me too. I very nearly chose Nha Trang for that very reason but decided on Da Nang for 8 months and Phu Quoc for the rainy season. Phu Quoc seems quite a lot cheaper for condo rents but a little more expensive for day to day expenses so works out about the same. Enjoy the surf!

To be honest I think it’s gonna change in 1-2 years and Da Nang and Nha Trang are gonna be more or less like Indonesia or Thailand when it comes to tourism/digital nomads. It looks to be good investment now into property, business etc.
