Hi! I recently got accepted into UGA as someone interested in majoring in entertainment and media studies. I'm still weighing my options, one of the other options potentially being going to ga state. Do you have any advice you could offer as a UGA student?

Hey sorry for the late response. I would definitely look at what the schools offer in terms of that major as well as some of the people in that industry who have come from those schools. I don't know too much about our program here at UGA but I think seeing the success from each individual school in regards to the major is important!

Val as is valedictorian? If u are, ur already auto-admit to Georgia schools, so I don’t think ur SAT matters

hey sorry for the late response I believe my SAT ended up as a 1230... its either that or 1260 can't remember which but it is also in the video I talked about it a bit. But also if you are Val rn if you maintain that with your grades you are automatically be accepted into the school!!

Hey, I mapped out my classes for the first day so I had an idea and trust me getting lost is normal! I’ve been here for a year and still manage to forget where I’m at lol but after a while you just start to memories the routes and stuff you see while one the bus and it gets really easy! I hope you get in as well so you can get the UGA college experience!! Best of luck!

First... congratulations!!! I was staying in Mcwhorter Hall which is located in East Campus Village. However, all the ECV dorms are like this and those consist of Busbee, Rooker, Vandiver, and McWhorter. I was in a 4x2 which is 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Heyy! Honestly I feel its as diverse as you make it depending upon the people you choose to surround yourself with me personally I am highly immersed in the black community but if you are looking for more diversity there is definitely the option here on campus

you pay for a meal plan that suits you best and then you just go in and scan your eyes/id and you can eat anything you like. The cost is covered through the meal plan!

In my opinion no because I made sure throughout high school I was building a resume and maintaining grades to ensure I would get in. So as long as you have good grades and are active in extracurricular activities it shouldn't be too hard but admission does vary

depends on where you are at on campus tbh. To say it is a large PWI I do think there is a decent bit of us here but still few enough that we may be the only black person in our classes
