It is completely true, there is a setting in the options before creating the world and by default they progress from just shooting zombies to shooting everything that moves is about a month.

The bullet a helicopter put through me the other day confirms that yes this does happen. I've been shot twice by helicopters but that one went right through a bullet proof vest!

It's cool to see a Zomboid playthrough where the military is active and doing stuff. My biggest gripe with a lot of zombie media is useless military/police. Like, the Walking Dead is such a big contributor to that annoyance. Rick wakes up weeks after the zombie outbreak started and the military has already been decimated??? The people with tanks, helicopters, LMGs, and gear that zombies couldn't possibly bite through??? I'll never forget seeing Rick climb into a tank and the 2 tank operators are dead inside. How did they die??? They're in a fucking tank lmao. Did a random zombie climb onto it, open the hatch, get inside, bite them without them fighting back, and then leave?
