Can a medical doctor work in the pharmaceutical industry?

Yes 100% they can -- in fact many MDs and PhDs work in the pharma industry. MDs with practicing experience are a HUGE asset to the pharmaceutical industry to their patient and therapeutic expertise and are often seen in roles such as medical directors, directors, VP, SVP, etc.
