Those backplates are in the works! A Norbaforce Monolith would be so insanely expensive that I don't think even I can contemplate it, but I am thinking of maybe doing an all-brass one. :O

@Miksu You should definitely not wax a powder coat finish. :) This video only applies to the Monolith black PVD coated edition.

Would automotive wax do the same thing to the pvd coating and require less mainetance?

This is in fact automotive wax, but just the pure Carnauba kind.

Hey there, would this work also for Anodized Aluminum? Or is it only recommended on PVD parts? Thanks

It wouldn't normally be done in order to achieve a deep black, since that usually isn't an issue with anodizing (since a black dye can simply be introduced). However, it might have other desirable properties such as making the surface look more matte and making a more maintainable surface. Because of the aforementioned reasons, I honestly have never tried. But it would be worthy of investigation. :)

$1000 case and your "custom designed foam" and greasy fingertips impact the finish before the customer even pulls it out? Why not use gloves when packing, a wax that doesnt melt at such low temps and a sealant? Whole thing seems odd when you identify short-comings before the item even ships and describe work-arounds instead of address them. Like what's so special about the coating that its worth dealing with fingerprints?

sam oksner My first thought would be to address the long game. Anyone who purchases a board that requires wax will benefit from some instruction on polishing. Take what you will from this video. I’ll have my glass half full.
