Looks great Ben thanks for the upload! Keeping away from the nasty cold weather down this way. I'm from Tasmania, got my pg2 in December and already planning a Bali trip in August. Looking forward to the days where I can do xc like you do

Nice one Ben, and thanks for the mention and link to my vid… Such a shame that epic sky didn’t continue all the way down to Pembrokeshire! Hope your travels in France are going well 👍🏻

Thanks mate! Yeah just in St Andre now, the air here reminds me a lot of NZ! So feeling a little at home, thanks again for all the help and beta for flying back home! 🙏🙌

Great to see you escaped the NZ winter doldrums. I take it this is home turf for you? (since you surprised Mum). I watched Tim's vid earlier and didn't realize you were out chasing him down. Well done for first crack mate! From other comments looks like you'll be flying France!!! How cool. Looking forward to your adventures. Happy and safe travels.

Thanks mate! Yeah from England originally so was pretty stoked to do some flying there!! Yeah was chasing Tim most of the day before I decked it after Brecon!

Hey Ben, great flight - especially for a first XC in the UK! Assuming you eventually head back to NZ, look me up en-route and try an XC in Southern Japan 😀👍

Dunno if you learned in the UK but when it's unstable there it's a lot more unstable than NZ. I had 10yrs in the UK (at the Dyke) before NZ - it can be strong and smooth there whereas it tends to be strong but rough in NZ, by comparison. Enjoy the summer.

Cool! Thanks mate, I learnt in NZ but pretty happy to get to fly in the UK!

Great to see the skills of the NZ alps translate to the northern hemisphere. Are you using flarm in the uk? It looks pretty busy there.
@BenjaminKellett2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate!! No I'm not, I didn't find it too bad, airspace is complicated but still plenty of space in the sy for all of us!

Glad you managed a taste of uk xc. So honestly.....how does it hold up to new Zealand xc? Always thought mountainous xc must be easier. So flat here and always a struggle at my level.
@BenjaminKellett2 жыл бұрын
It’s such a different game, both are difficult for different reasons. I don’t think I could say one is easier that the other, flying in the Uk seems quite challenging because the climbs are weak but you also have less complications from terrain… so 6 of one half a dozen of the other. Hats off to those who can fly both well, I certainly have a lot to learn.

well if your ever back this way and want to see some REAL flying sites on the south coast (meon shore 🤣) happy to host

Ben lovely country but of course no comparison to the NZ landscape, with its remoteness and lack of roads. Are you returning to NZ i loved your NZ mountain flying??
