At 4:38 he’s trying to explain that several Record label companies wanted to sign him but he couldn’t find his words so she chimed in and stated “ they were bidding for you?” That’s just like slavery when they bidded in the past, for b people. It’s all the same because the record labels and the executives make most money off these little artist. The artist just gets a small fraction.

Drill is the new wave… these record labels has found a bad business deal…to make money off them young boys…somehow… with the chances of them getting killed or going to jail… I honestly believe these Drill rappers have to sign a huge life insurance policy… and I’m sure there is some way the record label makes money off them when the Rapper gets locked up… There is something the record label is doing to beat these young kids out of their money… it has to be… it’s too much of a high risk to sign them… so why are the record labels signing them???

Honestly, he could’ve and should have done better , he failed to point out what his lawyer had mentioned and he outright should’ve owned up to it , but added that coming from a negative place and a negative environment he didn’t have many choices not because he was trapped into that life but because as a young black man childhood wasn’t the greatest… my dad died , beat my mom , I was addicted to drugs , but having spent my time incarcerated has elevated me to do better , I’ve learned to cope with myself and realized not one friend has reached out to me to send me money let alone write me a letter asking about my well being … if you spare me judge and I know it’s hard , I will take your decision with great gratitude in which ever way you decide , but please let me be a prime example of what change is , I even decided to stop using cuss words and will no longer promote violence in my music , and to show you how much I truly am dedicated to this decision,it can be part of my probation, please your honor and thank you mookey … blah blah blah

If I said this same thing about the white conservative politician who took videos pictures of him and his family misusing his "legal firearms", and said he was teaching young kids that it's cool to do what hes doing, you'd tell me that it isn't his job to raise his kids.

He was a felon caught with a gun. If he’s trying to start a rap career, Ditch the guns and those friends you used to hang out with who are still living the felonious lifestyle. Stay clean. He can probably be out in 2 years on good behavior. If he’s smart, he’ll buckle down and write lyrics to inspire youth, not about killing one another. I’ve read some of his lyrics, horrible. Too many kids get into rap and cannot leave the gang life behind. Remember when we were younger there was a West Coast Dr. Dre and an East Coast Dr. Dre just fighting over who was the “real” Dre. Lol. Then Snoop comes along, no gang affiliation, he just loves to smoke weed and never hid that fact. Anyway, it’d be cool to this kid get out and have enough songs written that he could get a major label. Then he’ll leave the old life behind and just loves rapping.

The courts are a white institution. Those adjudicating have a poor grasp of the culture that a lot of these young offenders are a part of. Not being able to possess a firearm in these neighbourhoods is the difference between surviving or dying. They don’t understand hip hop either - the content and what it means. 10 years for possession of a firearm is ludicrous. Some diversification, cross-cultural training and law reform is desperately needed. Mookey is v talented.. hopefully he gets out in 5 or so years with good behaviour and time served.

Everyone bends the law to varying degrees, but _most_ people don't broadcast their transgressions on social media or video. The courts _might_ understand the first part: that a weapon is required for self-defense, but no court in America, no matter how lenient or culturally aware is going to buy that the culture of hip hop itself is an excuse for waving guns around, violating probation, etc.

10 years means he can get out in 7 with good behavior and signs of rehabilitation. Plus she’s crediting him for the time already in. He’ll be out before he’s 30, plenty of time to live life after that. Honestly this may have saved his life, by the time he gets out his opps may be dead lol.

I think ten years was a bit much but with time served already and good time knocked off he will be home in 2-3 years instead of the 20 years they try to give him.. Bless this young man and his family. Maybe he needed this to keep him out of something worse he was heading into. God works in crazy ways.

Another one this is unbelievable how this continues to take place protect the victims of rape and domestic violence. United States need to compensate the victims this affects our world and it’s about time to make new laws to prevent this horrible crime from becoming what seems to be normal for the rappers and affects us all especially our children. Innocent mothers

He hasn't had any charges as an adult? Probably because he's spent the entirety of his adulthood locked up. Also his lawyers absolutely wrote that. He doesn't speak eloquently on his own.. anyway, he has 10 years to think about his "positive" influence on the misinformed generation
