Sri Ramana is seen effortlessly performing with humility and dedication. Musical talent is sign and symptom of embodying Ishvara's Grace. Yet it would be facilitating for calming the nerves even if one does passive listening to such absorbing music. This youth of modern Bharat is an example to be emulated. In a pop culture peppered society it is so soothing to see such a young boy setting himself as a lighthouse in an otherwise restless sea of obsessive activities amidst a rock culture music rocking the sympathetic responses of our younger generation.

very fine....like this more than any of the other Veena players under age 60 that i have heard in the past 20 years...it also helps that for a change the recording engineering is at a professional standard, which is all too often not the case in carnatic music....

Young Vid. Ramana Balachandran has brought out the beauty of this prAcheena rAga very well with all the graceful gamaka-s that are characteristic to it And this beauty is, in a sense, superior to that of Sindhu bhairavi, which is more frequently sung and played in both the Carnatic and Hindustani styles of Indian classical music. After all Sindhu-bhairavi is called simply as Bhairavi in the H system !And this is so because the SB scale is obtained by griha bheda of Bhairavi (taking the latter's panchama as shadja.)
