Adam, you are a naturally gifted narrator and a talented photographer and both of these combined make enchanting and educational content. Your images today were case in point, especially that pano with the sun rays shining through. In that moment we were vicariously living that experience alongside you, and I for one are grateful that you share these experiences with us

Adam, too right, if I couldn't go out with the camera I don't know how I'd cope. It's a huge amount of solace and calm, the way when you come across a scene when out walking and completely lose yourself in the making of an image. All your cares and woes disappear in that moment.

Love watching your videos over the past few years , like you have certain things in life happened and I lost my love of photography. It's not I didn't want to do it but I felt guilty of allowing myself to show happiness through my images. I shouldn't be happy but it's been a long hard road and still have my moments but watching your videos helps me allow myself to find happiness in taking images and not feel guilty of being happy. Images for me are a way of showing people the beauty of this world even though certain things in life happen to us all, photography has helped me find that peace and I am able to be happy within myself through my photography. Keep up the great work and thank you .😊

Love the thumb block technique thanks. Your final comments struck a chord with me as I have just gone through a period of declining health and fitness and was convinced my Lake District fell walking days were over. By chance I discovered that my healthy was being adversely affected by some medication my doctor had prescribed which made me lethargic, stopped me sleeping and caused great pain in my muscles and joints. Happily, after stopping taking the medication, within a month I'm almost back to full fitness and am back walking the fells and photographing with renewed enthusiasm.

Nice to see you again, Adam. As always, your images are gorgeous, but more importantly, your thoughts and views resonate. The trick, I’m learning (slowly), is not to overthink, or take much of anything too seriously. Our only obligation, aside from that to those we love, is to LIVE while we’re alive.

Hi Adam, I agree with you on seasons. Meteorological Spring, Meteorological Summer, Meteorological Autumn, Meteorological Winter..I don't know when meteorologists started misrepresenting the seasons but I don't recall hearing about these when I was a kid. Where I live in Wisconsin, sometimes we get snow in May; other years, it doesn't snow in December...Anyways, I appreciate your honesty that you bring to the conversation and also the photography you share with us here.

I wondered where you'd got to, Adam. Just do what makes you happy. I am sure most of us subscribe not just for the photography, but because you're a relatable guy. As an ex-copper myself, too, I say just go where the journey takes you. Those of us that get it will tag along, those that don't aren't worth worrying about!

Yet another great video. Thanks for sharing those stunning images. I really resonate with your comment of how photography can help the healing process from trauma. In my case, it may not be trauma, but rather the amount of stress in my life. When I do get a chance to get out with the camera, the stress melts away for a while. It is hard to describe the feeling, other than being weightless. I very much appreciate your channel, for both the learning about photography and learning about life. Cheers.

Couple of nice image there, Adam. I keep meaning to go back up there for a sunset, last time was with Mali and we decided not to go up towards the tarn as there were dozens of folk heading up to camp! Not sure if going further over towards Buck Crag would help balance the Tarn in the scene? Although it was a grand image anyway.
@Firstmanphotography6 ай бұрын
Thanks Mikey, its a lovely spot and there were a few campers around the tarn. Personally if i was camping, id head further along to Place Fell for the view over Ullswater.
@Twa-Dags6 ай бұрын
Yeah, I reckon place fell would be fairly quiet, not having the draw of a tarn and it being a bit more of a slog up than Angle Tarn, which a lot of folk use as an overnighter before heading over to High Street, which is a great walk from Patterdale in itself.@@Firstmanphotography

I was born with degenerative bone disease which I've always live with, had my hips replaced when I was 16 and since then I've been getting on with life but I'm 37 now and hill walking, which has always been difficult for me, is now becoming increasingly painful. I've done all the wainwright's so I've not real urgency to climb anymore but as a result of pain I've stopped going for photography and taken up my other passion which is Macro a lot more visiting nature reserves and helping with butterfly conservations recording while I'm out doing that. Along with photography I always feel like I need another reason to be there. Before is was, well I'm hiking so I'll take my camera for a shoot and now it's well I'm going to help this charity with it's recording I'll take my camera while I'm out. I don't know why but I always feel there needs to be a purpose to it or the images mean nothing to me.
@Firstmanphotography6 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear about your health condition. One of the great things about photography though is that it will often adapt with us. Have you tried water drop photography yet? I know what you mean about 'purpose' too. I often feel the same.
