Amid rising tensions between Russia and Ukraine, a Reuters report has claimed that Kyiv is using ammunition supplied by New Delhi. However, India has dismissed the report, labelling it "speculative and misleading." The report alleged that artillery shells sold by Indian arms manufacturers were diverted by European customers to Ukraine, and that New Delhi has not intervened to halt the trade despite protests from Moscow. It claimed that the transfer of munitions to support Ukraine’s defence against Russia has been ongoing for more than a year. According to the report, Russia has raised the issue on at least two occasions, including during a July meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Indian counterpart. But, India's Ministry of External Affairs called the report "inaccurate", asserting that the country has an "impeccable track record of compliance with international obligations" regarding arms non-proliferation and that it follows robust export rules.
