I am a Canadian, super educated and I lived in the US briefly for 10 months in 2022-23. I worked at Purdue as a post doctoral researcher, there my salary was nominal. But within 2 months I realised that it was completely unaffordable to live there considering the cost of living expenses behind rent, grocerries and daily neccessity items. Extremely high medical costs and high interest rates if to finance a car etc. It was shocking to me to beleive that US is the so called most powerfull and richest nation in this world, when I had to struggle to cover my basic living expenses there. All these circumstances made me to quit my decent job and forced me to go back to Canada. I think this is why democrats lost in the elections. Local people there like me in finances probably found a hope in Trumps campaign, but if he dosesnt correct the situation then the replublicans may also loose in future. Countries like India, China, Brazil are attracting more skilled labour by providing affordable living costs. So you have to act now or it may become late.
