I am glad that I attended the closing and award ceremony of this world chess championship physically. Couldnt meet gukesh personally and could only see him from distance. Me and other Indian audiance also chanted "Gukesh ..... Gukesh" and "Bharat Mata ki Jai" when Gukesh was receiving the award and gave his speech. Feeling proud to be Indian once again, thanks to Gukesh.

Vidit is undoubtedly great in communication compared to many chess players! But can we also appreciate the journalist for such brilliant questions! It's quite rare to see a journalist understanding these intricate aspects of chess and ask such brilliant questions around them! Kudos to her!

Vidit said it so well, "His will to win is greater than the worry of losing", that's exactly what sets Gukesh apart when I look at all of his games. He's never afraid to enter complications, he doesn't ever want to cut the game short without tugging at every chance possible and he isn't afraid to commit to ambitious moves despite the risks because of this quality.

Think people didn't really understood/downplayed the affect of having 3 champion player from India (Gukesh, Vidit and Pragg) in the candidates, in a single year; out of 8 Champion Players- who all secured their position among players of 160+ countries. Vidit himself was the Grand Swiss Champion and booked his place in Candidates through that. Just to put into perspectives- for most countries in this world, if the country can have one player in candidates (in their entire history), that would be a landmark for them (beyond forces like USA and Russia). India getting chance of putting 3 players in Candidates in a single year- its unbelievable. I have to really remember- if someone else has ever qualified for candidates from south-east Asian countries before (except Vishy Anand).

Unfortunately chess is not happening in the north. The chess phenomena and global sensation is predominantly from south indians and especially from Tamil Nadu the chess mecca of India .Its clear north indians are riding on the coatails of the south indians . This observation is very clear.

Gukesh was extremely happy representing the Indian flag on the world stage. He said that himself. As long as players r representing India not north India or south India it doesn't matter what you guys think.
