It’s very disappointing to see that the government is not taking immediate steps to address this situation. Delhi’s pollution is making headlines every day in both national and international media. People are suffering as this pollution takes a serious toll on their health, yet no strict action has been taken even after 15 days. It’s shocking to think that this is happening in Delhi, the capital of the world’s 5th largest economy.

If only population was the problem then Chimay would have faced the same issue. Japan being as densely populated as it is will face the same issue but that's not the issue. Humans in themselves don't pollute the air by existing, look at what happens during covid. It's many other factors including the car dependent cities where each person today has to own a vehicle and travel daily. The capitilistic society leading to over production of goods that anyhow end up in land dumps. If someone is producing one less kid today then they are spending their time travelling much more. It's only going to grow If the city planning is not done properly where schools & hospitals are smaller, nearer, decentralized and public transportation is top notch so that no one requires separate. Along with investment in green energy, waste management and LESS capitilistic society so we don't exploitat our environment and resources.

This is the result of putting too many eggs in one basket. If ISRO can operate from Bangalore and launch Chandrayaan, why do we need all offices crammed into Delhi? With 1,800 new vehicles daily, pollution won’t stop. Time for bold action!" #DelhiPollution #Decentralize
@ChariSN6 сағат бұрын
"Delhi's pollution crisis is a classic example of putting too many eggs in one basket. Despite having adequate infrastructure, people suffer daily due to unbearable traffic jams, lack of parking, overcrowded roads, inadequate public transport, and rising pollution levels. Adding to this is the lack of civic sense among citizens, further worsening the chaos. Take the period between Deepavali and Chhath Puja as an example - roads are empty, and pollution levels drop significantly. This proves how much of Delhi’s population is migrant. So why can’t the government take bold steps to decentralize? Shift non-essential offices and organizations to smaller towns across India. Delhi, as the capital, can host essential offices, but the rest can operate from anywhere, just as ISRO thrives in Bangalore and successfully launched Chandrayaan. Pilani, a remote Rajasthan village, earned global recognition with BITS. Decentralization will not only reduce the pressure on Delhi but also foster development in smaller towns. Bold action is overdue - decentralize, redistribute, and relieve Delhi." #DelhiPollution #DecentralizeDevelopment #SustainableGrowth

I remember my visit to Delhi in the ’90s, where breathing was difficult and the air pollution was so bad that I had to wipe off black dust every hour or so. It was terrifying to witness. Whatever needs to be done, electrifying vehicles are not necessarily the answer, as it burns more fossil fuels to manufacture these electric cars, which makes them potentially more environmentally unfriendly than a regular car. Plus, the cars might not be emitting exhaust directly when you drive them, but the electricity with which you recharge the battery often burns fossil fuels, as they are energy-intensive. Think batteries, think environmental degradation and exploitation.
@gregorymalchuk2727 сағат бұрын
90% of this, and the vast majority of the particulate pollution comes from unnecessary rice stubble burning, with some from coal fired brick kilns. The government won't do the necessary thing of jailing farmers that set fire to rice paddies.

In the years 2005 to 2015, the US embassy in Beijing daily monitor the air quality and the data were relayed by Western media with criticism and attacks on CPC government. The result effect today is very positive. China air pollution drastically reduced without compromising the industrialization progress. Chinese people should be thankful to both the CPC GOVERNMENT and the USA
Chinese people are often forgetting what the USA did for them. If it wasn't for the USA, parts of China would probably be still occupied by the Japanese. Just saying. And there would be no Russia today. It would be German empire right now. Everybody is blaming the US for everything all the time, but they never appreciate what the USA has done for them. It's a shame. The USA acts like the inofficial world police, protecting small souverene countries and territories from bigger bully countries, protecting sea routes that are important for global trading and are supporting developing countries with investments and aid money for free, but still other countries like to point fingers at the USA. Like they are mafias, that don't want the police in their neighborhood.

we need to change the capital city from Delhi to some other small city, relocate the industries to save people of Delhi

Pollution coming from crop burning every winter. Help the farmers figure out a better way or subsidize them so they are not doing the cheapest means of crop cleanup.

We are in sad state of affairs, the government do not care at all. This happens every year, there is no excuse, we all were ready for this. Nothing surprising.
