Thank you for this accurate reporting. As our premier said: my homeland is not for sale. The security rant is bullshit, and trump knows it. As you mentioned they have a huge base here and if they wanted to build more bases neither Denmark or Greenland would object. Greenland is an autonomous part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and Denmark is a part of the NATO alliance. An attack on Greenland by the Russians or the Chinese would immediately invoke article 5 which says that an attack on one is an attack on all. Neither Russia or China are that stupid, and they have plenty of fish to fry elsewhere. No, Trump wants Greenland because of our natural resources, and he doesn’t want to pay for them, hence the threat of a military take over. Yes, we have resources, but Mango Mussolini and his cadre of sycophants might not be so hot under the collar when they discover that extracting these minerals will not be the walk in the park they are apparently anticipating. Many of these mineral deposits are found in quite inaccessible areas where there is no infrastructure at all. He would have to build roads, harbours, airports, housing, power stations etc etc etc. Building infrastructure is enormously expensive, even more so in the Arctic where everything has to be shipped in. Sure, our government is happy to negotiate business deals, even deals for mining, but we are not for sale, and that is also one of the reasons that he is threatening a military take over of Greenland, and a trade war with Denmark if we all don’t comply with his demands.

The answer to buying Greenland is exactly the same now as it was in 2019 when the Present PM of Denmark and past PM of Greenland said that buying Greenland would be unthinkable and absurd, so like then, she and the new PM of Greenland are now repeating what was said, along with all five parties in the Greenlandic parliament unanimously saying no to Greenland becoming part of the USA. Trump on the other hand still do not seem to get the message.

As a Danish citizen... First of all... Greenland is a Country... Second Greenlanders can always vote to be full independent... But Denmark give around 1.8 Billion every year to free health care, free education, social security rebuild roads and many other things. Denmarks only role around Greenland is military and foreign policy together with Greenlanders. So if Greenlanders want independent. They can do that. But they still need money to secure the welfare system in Greenland. So if US will help Greenland they must pay up
