Experiencing the WORST Cruise Port.. and our FAVORITE (Odyssey of the Seas) 2023

This week we swapped our RV for a cruise ship! We boarded the Royal Caribbean Odyssey of the Seas out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a 6 night cruise. This is the BIGGEST and TALLEST cruise ship we have ever been on! Today we take you through two port days on the cruise. The first was definitely our least favorite cruise port we've been to Falmouth, Jamaica. If you have a cruise going here definitely plan to do an excursion or use it as a boat day! The next day we arrived at our favorite cruise port we've been to Labadee, Haiti. This is Royal Caribbean's private port in Haiti and the beaches are beautiful! There are a ton of excursions you can do including the longest overwater zip line or you can just hangout on one of the many beaches and snorkel! We had so much fun on this cruise and enjoyed sharing it all with you! Where should we go next?

Oh man, I wish you had given Jamaica more of a chance! I've been twice and we are stopping there again next month. Dunn's river falls is fun, as is the hillside coaster and zipline. It's important to remember that you're stopping in very poor third world countries. You just have to be stern if you're walking outside of the gates, say no thank you and keep walking. There are plenty of amazing things to see, do and eat in Jamaica. Please do some research and give it another try sometime! It's really a beautiful place.

When you were talking about the artisan market, all you needed to do was go around it. There is another path to Columbus cove that avoids it or take the tram which bypasses it....that is the most annoying area to go to, but at least they're confined to that small alley 🤷🏻‍♂️....labadee is awesome though other than that!

Yes we did that the other path there but the way thru artisan market was the quickest to the food haha! But we absolutely loved Labadee!

You are correct about Falmouth, Jamaica. We had an excursion to see parts of the city, old landmarks, and a public beach. The beach was mediocre, definitely overcrowded and overpriced. The parts of town we saw would classify as slums in this country, dilapidated buildings with rusted metal roofs, dogs running wild in the streets, residents hanging out on street corners. The town was filthy. Definitely not a port I would visit again.

Been to that port a couple times and yeah, we did the same exact thing you guys did! Lol. Out the gate and back in the gate! Lol there just is not much out there . Best thing to do is just except the fact you will be doing some shopping. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We had our first real tropical vacation to Jamaica a couple months ago! Definitely work with a guide and stick near the touristy areas... Our guide was great and we had a day full of adventure and exploration. No doubt there were some really rough areas on that island, but overall there's a lot of great stuff to do, too! Also I had a freakin marlin on the line for about 45 seconds 😂 Bottom line - Be smart, hire a guide, don't wander around at night off-resort. haha

Falmouth is not a representation of Jamaica. It’s just a manufactured port. We did an excursion to Dunns River Falls a few years ago and had a blast. We’ve also been to Negril which is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world

We went to Thai Peppers and roamed the town in Falmouth. Had a good time. Bought some coffee and had a massive snow cone in town . They definitely grind ya but if your persistent you good they’ll leave ya alone. Would definitely go back to Falmouth again

We went to Falmouth a few months back and we felt the same way. Super pushy.. even on the bamboo river rafting tour that we went on. Ended up out of $60 due to the guy seeing our money in the bag when paying him(our mistake). Haiti was the same way in those shops but other than that I loved that port.
