The black dots on the fish are a parasite that feed off of another parasite in the crabs. It’s called “Peppered Crab Disease”. It’s very common on blue crabs and snow crabs. As long as the crabs are cooked properly, there is no risk to eating them at all. Completely safe. They also don’t affect the flavor in any ways

You want to try something good on crab try this: my wife is from Vietnam, and when she came over here and tried snow crab for the first time, I saw her get a little sauce cup and pour in a little pile of salt, a little pile of pepper, and a little pile of sugar in there. She also got some sliced lemons and squeezed the juice on top of it all. She stirred it all up and made sure there was enough lemon juice in there to cover the spices well. Then she took a taste. If it was too sour, she would add a bit more sugar and stir it, and if it was too sweet, she would squeeze in a bit more lemon juice in there and stir it. Now it will look a bit strange, with the pepper in there, it kind of looks like someone put a cigarette out in it, but I tell you, it is some of the best dipping sauce for any kind of crab, and other seafood items like shrimp. I never messed with crab much until trying this sauce, give it a try. My wife said it’s very popular to dip seafood in from the place she is from!😋

It may just be my old eyes, but you should check the orientation of your traps. I think you have them tied reverse/upside down. They don't seem very deep when you retrieve them. It may help with the catching of the crabs. Again, it may just be my eyes
@shmack7579 ай бұрын
I can't remember the last time I seen you use crab for bait. That first one you caught would have been perfect . But instead of using the crab there, take it to a beach in the surf.
@jurassicjustin49609 ай бұрын
I think people would like to see you have more fun in the kitchen and be creative. Make a video once in a while where you go to a familiar, high percentage spot and catch what you need, then have some fun with it. Even if you make something straight forward like fish tacos, film yourself making some mango salsa and maybe a slaw of some sort to top them with. I enjoy the catch and cooks even if you continue to keep it simple, especially with new species, but if you want to elevate the cooking side, its a suggestion on how you might. Love the channel, 5 year subber here.

When your throwing in your crab trap, its better to not dump the whole line in the water. Just enough so it reaches bottom and the rest of the line should be on land. The big crabs will feel the movement of the rope moving as you pull it up and escape
