To your point, if after this season it is more of the same, draft another dude. Or make a trade for one. If able. The floor should be 4000 yards 30 td's 12 interception and close to a 95 QB rating. You won't win much without that. I am a Vikes fan and even i think and thought Cousins was trash before we signed him. And during his time here. So even at the same time stats don't always mean everything. He was fluff stats and could not win games against teams .500 or better or win primetime games. Horrific record in both instances. The only season he managed to do both was the flukey year 2 years ago we went 13-3 cause we had a ton of favorable bounces. Like fumbles or this or that. I’ll put my Lawrence opinion this way; Baker Mayfield has 3 different seasons that are better than any season Lawrence has ever had. Tua’s had 2. Purdy’s had one. At certain point, you are what you do.
@sifu98636 ай бұрын
Obviously he’s not gonna put up 40 TDs but can he put up 25/30 TDs keep the INTs lower than 10? Sure, that team with that from their QB will be good.

The inflated QB contracts started with Joe Flaco. I remember he was the first QB to sign a 100 million dollar deal in 2012. People were flabbergasted lol. It’s getting ridiculous now.

(2:03) Nick Wright ≈ " _Warren Moon - to this day - is well-known for being a physical specimen_ " This is not true *at all* . Warren Moon was an average-sized QB who did all of his work in the pocket. When he hit his 40s he had the mobility of Dan Marino. Bottom Line = Nobody ever looked at Warren Moon as a " *physical specimen* ".

If Rogers has a season anything like that, the Jets are going to the Superbowl. But it's pretty unlikely. So it's good they got Olu in the draft for the next guy. But then the Jets are going to have the best running game in football with Hall and Allen and a vastly improved OL, so Rogers doesn't need to go crazy for them to get into the post-season.

1:35 Yes I agree with Nick. Tom, Phillip Rivers, Ben R are not the benchmark on playing late 30s-40s. The next generation of QBs are very good at a young age and teams are looking to them earlier, rather than keep their franchise guy forever. I think 35-38 is likely the retirement age of a QB.
