If they said it matters, he would of course say after a win that Purdy is no better than a backup QB, and if they said it didn't, he will act as if it doesn't mean anything. Nick’s “frustration” makes no sense. Purdy has been leading the league in QB stats for most of his career starts on a consistent basis. That’s why a single game of another QB doing well wouldn’t mean much against Purdy’s resumé, and all it does is add more to his worth when they do lose in this fashion. What doesn’t he get? Is Purdy the best QB in the league? No, but he has been top 5 for a long time and Nick just won’t admit it because it wouldn’t fit his small hands theory.

Let me say this as a Texans fan, enough excuses for Stroud, the O line is a healthier version of the one from last year, the defense has improved, he has a better running game, and even when he's had all of his receivers healthy he's still underperforming. This was the 49ers worst offensive game since the 2022 NFC Championship, which was the last time Purdy was injured. Regular season wise, they haven’t scored this few points since Week 3 of 2022. The defensive numbers look terrible without Bosa, but if you watched the game, they did a pretty good job of stopping the Packers after the first couple drives. The Packers scored three straight TDs off of extremely short fields given to them by the Niners offense turning the ball over.

i won't put brandon allen down since he hasn't played for a while and he has a broken finger, not to mention the ground was slippery yesterday. On the other note, Purdy is young and he has hunger to win and will do anything to prove himself. He will run and put his body on the line if needs be. Life isn't a straight line. There will be up and down and that the same for quarterbacks. Brock going through a challenging season and that a good thing. Without these challenges, he won't make improvements. Niners should ride with him and rebuild the team around him. Give him couple years and see if he worth the investment. NFL these days don't develop and stick with their QB like they used to. One bad season and they just switch them out. Not everyone is Mahome or Brady.

All pro avenger Deebo had 1 catch for 21 yards which was a trick play screen pass and dropped a ball that turned into an interception. All of nicks avengers besides kittle decided not to show up. Its almost like the 49ers need Purdy and not the other way around 🤔

Cmc aside because of the injury, it's almost like the only real avenger is Kittle, who is still playing his heart out and producing. Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, no hate but they've never been top 15 (maybe Aiyuk last year but that's it). So if those are avengers then i dont know who Burrow is playing with lol

Aight real talk, 3 points… 1) Nick knew that by him positing that question Friday that he was stoking the fire just because the question was coming from him. If he doesn’t than he’s naive thinking he’s Mr Objectivity. 2) the biggest culprit for the 9ers is their lack of consistent pairings of crucial teammates (Greenlaw, Bosa, Trent, CMC, Purdy, etc) 3) CJ Stroud is playing with dawgs on his team and while it should make it easier, he’s falling for the easy mistake Josh Allen did in pandering to the stars.
