I was last in San Luis in February 2019 and visited Real de Catorce, La Huasteca, Xilitia and more as well as experiencing local dishes Enchiladas Potosinas and Huastecas and the famous Costanzo Chocolates!
San Luis is definately my favourite place in Mexico, largely because it feels more untouched by tourism than other areas of Mexico such as Guanajuato, Cancun, San Miguel de Allende and Puerto Vallarta, which I love!

I was in Ciudad Valles, Xilitla and Edward James in February. MUCHO CALOR! But I didn't go to any cascadas, I don't like water and without my glasses I am basically blind so wouldn't be able to film anything. Might go back there one day though, at a cooler time, if that exists jaja

I spent my childhood in San Luis so I might be biased, but it is absolutely one if the prettiest cities in Mexico. Another beautiful, historical city that is a must in Mexico is Tlaxcala. Super beautiful.

Yo soy de san luis y hace 8 meses andaba en rosarito tenia pensado de pasada por que iva a ensenada was in my fuckin Car . Y son bien mordelones los puercos alla. Nadamas viendote placas de otro estado. Ches hambriados se me hicieron peor que en san luis. Sera por que rosarito no capta mayor turistas la mayor parte lo capta tijuana, Mexicali y ensenada.

@@davidostrowski679 Monterrey is so different from the other cities, i hope you can enjoy the city specially the macroplaza and paseo santa lucia, i recommend you santiago city that is a pueblo magico near from Monterrey, and if you have time to explore the state you need to go to iturbide, galeana, rayones and Linares, by the way you have to taste cabrito, glorias and machacado, the most representative food of the state, have an excellent night¡ :)

Hi David! I discovered SLP City 2 years ago and was a fantastic experience. I had planned a trip to San Miguel de Allende but changed my mind due to high prices of accommodations. I found SLP charming, clean, safe and affordable. There are some very nice museums there and also there are some very interesting spots not far from SLP City. The state of SLP is populated by very well preserved impressive colonial haciendas (Mexican answer to European castles). Maybe because during Colonial times SLP was super rich in silver and because of the dry climate, you can find in SLP the best haciendas in all of Mexico. If possible get a tour to some haciendas like Gorron Hacienda, where Catherine Z. Jones filmed Zorro. They are spectacular. Have an great time in SLP. Cheers

I travel to San Luis Potosi from age 10 to age 35 with my whole family. Our annual Religious Convention is base there. Most of our family met our future spouses there. Great memories of personal and Church activities as a child and into adulthood. I have always had it in my mind always. Thank you for this video, made me some what sentimental at 60 yrs old. Shalom

It is normally tempered with dry sun without humidity, if you are from las vegas, you have to realize that it is like the climate of las vegas dry but the triple of burning sun in las vegas is the difference. I was 9 months ago in Las Vegas.

I live right next Leonora´s Museum! So nice to see my city thorough your eyes, and about the the robin (red bird you saw) for me it´s the equivalent to the english robin, we call it the same, I went to London and when I saw the english robin tought it was the parallel reality across the pond, the metaphor of comparing the two kind of robins, how life is the same and we are not much different, just some different colors... you came in the hottest time of the year, and the dryiest, autum is the best weather, San Luis will miss you, good luck weathever you go :)

Another great video of my old hometown! Especially the part showing the Calzada de Guadalupe which I lived by back in the 70’s and Parque Tangamanga where I like to visit whenever visiting San Luís Potosí. Keep up the great videos David. Hope you didn’t forget your Costanzo chocolates on your way to Zacatecas which is also another great city in Mexico. Great background music btw. Enjoy amigo!

What a lovely tour of a beautiful little town. I have not been to SLP, but years ago did go to SMA to visit a friend for the weekend who had rented a house there for a month. Although it is also a beautiful town, it was a bit too over the top for me. So many hipsters and quite pricey at that. I quess I would equate it's hipness to Santa Fe, NM. I agree that some of the less traveled places have volumes to offer. I need to go check it out! Thanks

For the next time , you should visit the haciendas in San Luis Potosí , I recommend La ventilla and Gogorron. I’m from San Luis Potosí 💚

I felt the same way! I went to San Luis Potosi Mexico and was amazed at all the colonial architecture and charm of the city and was impressed. I was told San Miguel de Allende was even better when I went to San Miguel de Allende I was greatly disappointed, Not that it was not beautiful just there was a charm that was not there almost like there was something missing.

Very lovely town there. I can certainly see why you'd love it so. You visited another gorgeous town awhile back that had the giant monolithic mountain on the outskirts of town. I need to find that video again because I really enjoyed that one. Mexico is just packed with beautiful places. Peace !

Great video David. My grandfather came from there to the U.S. before World War 1 and I've wondered for many years what it was like there, of course that's another time but still the same city. Was there visiting family durning Holy Week , but I do recommend going to cerro de San Pedro it’s a small mining town there is San Luis Potosí also that fort looking building was the old prison.

Hi David ! Its the first time I watch your videos. I am from San Luis Potosi, I live in the Barrio of San Miguelito and the only think I can say is Thank you !! For filming this amazing video and capture some of the beauty that San Luis has. Our food, our chocolates costanzo, our enchiladas. I am so glad that you found san Luis so amazing b/c it really is an amazing place. One thing, the Laura Carrington museum used to be a penitentiary that it was build in the 1800 century. Would be good that in your next visit you go inside of that place. Welcome back to my city San Luis Potosi. If you need a guide next time let me know. Jeje.

Great you are back in SLP. Beautiful state. Now that you're going to Zacatecas you'll fall in love oven deeper. The architecture is stunning. Pink quarry stone everywhere. It was and still is the biggest silver producer and some mines are open to the public.

What I love about markets is the natural smell of every fruits, vegetables, and spices...oh yeah! If you wanna to relax parks or plazas they are marvelous...San Luis is also a wonderful place to visit...thanks mate and cheers 🍻!!
