I see a lot of comments here that do not get that these are 2 different stiles: Destreza, the spanish style, (Guy on the right) has an upright stance to enable circular movement at the expense of speed in the lineal movement. You won't see any fast lunges or cool looking guards in Destreza. If you pay attention, he is constantly closing the distance, seeking the bind to control the opponent sword moving it down and to a side and THEN proceed to offend. He is not a bad practitioner, he has not a bad footwork, he has not a bad distance management. It's a rapier style that focuses on defence and control of the opponent sword above anything else. What you see is the principle applied and note that he is quite successful at closing the distance, defend lunges and disam the opponent.

Nada mal. solo siento que fue más activo el italiano, no por el estilo en si mismo, sino por el combatiente. interesante ver como el italiano tenía ventaja a mayor distancia y visceversa en el caso del español.

Se le nota por el logro de las Escuelas de Esgrima Antigua Españolas encima del brazalete y también porque su posición de pies es más cerrada ya que la Destreza trata de moverse en círculos alrededor del oponente mientras que los italianos son más lineales y de lanzar estocadas

Agreed. Their foot work sucks. Also, they seem not to know how to disengage their blades and seek the target (among many other flaws).
