Thanks for information again. 6:40 video glitch might have been caused by another piece of electronics being used while filming. I’ve had that happen while using a GoPro and a flash from a 35 mm camera.

A mandarin is not a good fish for a nano tank. You could add pods every day and it still wouldn't be enough.

I really don't think you could possibly stock enough pods for a mandarin in a 20-gallon... probably not even enough for a scooter blenny, either. You could get one that eats frozen, though.

@@joaquinsandoval5286 with two in a 15 gallon, yours are definitely eating prepared foods. There's absolutely no way in hell you could have enough pods for two in a 15 gallon.

Maybe they’re supplying pods? Don’t crap on people who are more successful than you 😉 also, this is a video about fish that are SIZED appropriately for a SMALL tank. Not a how to guide on keeping those fish alive.

@thatplantguy93 I'm not saying it isn't possible. I just think it's a bit ridiculous to suggest them for a tank that small. The general consensus is that dragonets need 50 or even 75 gallons minimum if you don't plan on culturing and dosing pods. That is coming from people with decades of experience, including many dragonet breeders and importers far more experienced than Hilary. Tank size is only part of the equation. There are many small fish that simply fail to thrive in small tanks due to their high activity, pelagic nature, or dietary requirements, and mandarins definitely fall under the latter. Even if you dose pods, they can wipe out a pod population in hours in a tank that small, and they need to literally eat constantly because they lack a stomach. Is it impossible? Of course not. Is it really one of the best fish that should be included in the list of the best fish for a 20-gallon? Hell no! There are hundreds of readily available nano fish species, and she chose two of the worst fish that could fit in a tank this small. If you ask me, that's just irresponsible.
