Love your videos. Do you think I could mix clowns with some of the more peaceful damsels? I love the sand gobies but they are so hard to feed inmy experience that they can easily raise nitrates especially in a small aquarium with no refugium or means of really controlling nitrates. I actaully had a diamond jump out of my tall tank which totally freaked me out! LOL He usually only came up for food and he was always very late in the feeding time when he finally would come up so I would have to keep throwing in more food when the others were done feeding and he would barely get any even then!

I don’t recommend blue devil damsels in a small community tank. They get real territorial and aggressive fast. Killed my flame hawkfish and coral beauty even when I added the damsel last.

I got a gold lightning maroon clown would it be safe to add a small gold nugget?
@BrockLeonard2 жыл бұрын
Usually I would say no because the maroon has probably already taken territory over the tank and the gold nugget would get attacked constantly. But it also depends on the size of the tank.

I've always been afraid of putting too much weight in the bottom of my 55 gallon tank or any tank. I currently have a saltwater 55 gallon tank and it has 44 lb of pink Fiji sand I have one live rock and I would like to add a lot more but I'm afraid of cracking the bottom of the tank with weight I've never asked anybody before, how much weight is too much weight to put in a 55 gallon tank?
@BrockLeonard2 жыл бұрын
It can handle a lot. I don’t know the specific math on it but if you think about it water weight a little over 8 pounds so it’s already holding over 450 pounds just in water. For reference, I had about 85 pounds of live rock in my old reef tank that was 55 gallons.
@SG-Motorsports2 жыл бұрын
@@BrockLeonard okay, I want to go full reef and I'm slowly adding fish that my moray eel will not eat LOL and I'm just so afraid of the bottom cracking that's all. I learned my lesson with him on the third night I had him he ate my royal gramma😐 so his first meal was $40. Then he killed my bicolored angel by biting it. There was nothing I could do with the angel I couldn't take it back to the pet store no refunds that sort of thing, so his first two weeks in my tank he cost me over $100. I'm pretty knowledgeable with fish and aquariums and setting up good biotopes, just not very knowledgeable on how much stress the bottom glass can actually take. I've been keeping freshwater fish for over 30 years and have recently switched to saltwater only because there's only so much you can do with fresh water. While having a saltwater tank your options are basically limitless. Anyway I ran across your channel and found it interesting. Hope to have future conversations, keep up the good work.

@@BrockLeonard well, it's a nice looking house and I wouldn't mind living in it myself but the royal gramma and the angel really insisted on living in there but it didn't matter that it was already occupied. My eel which I'm not sure what to name him yet I'm leaning more towards Lumpy, he's really amazing he goes in and out of the house and doesn't really stay in it much anymore he stays around it I'll see if I make a short video or something share it in here with you. I think I have one of my tank already but it's changed since then and lumpy is a lot bigger believe it or not he's growing, he eats twice a day. Currently I'm still feeding him shrimp pellets once a day and hand feeding him with very long tongs, krill pre-soaked, he eats between 10 and 20. I have one full bottle left and after that's gone he's going to supermarket Seafood.
