I got the X2 last season for my little 15' tinnie I sneak out in on calm days. Other than about a 20 second delay for accurate speed, it works perfect and makes a difference for sure, we caught more fish!

FYI Andrew the speed on-screen is the mean of that 20-second period so you get a stable number rather that flipping around with wave surge etc...

At what angle do you point the transducer back to be able to catch the signal from the probe when the blowback gets to be excessive the deeper you fish?

Personally I feel like those of us that have a normal fish finder there’s no reason for us to get anything but the X2. just about every fish finder on the market shows surface speed.

Thoughts on the application of this when lead core trolling for walleye in a river ? I'm in depths from 15' to 40' down in various currents.

Great info Russ. In regards to the X4D, if you don’t care to use the surface temp and speed, do you still need to mount the transducer to the boat for the depth (blowback) reading to function properly? If not, would think you could just leave it disconnected. Thanks again for the informative videos!!
