Everett Mancke doesn’t it? Has there been a recent study of itchyovenator or new findings or something? I know the sail isn’t as crooked as originally depicted due to an taphonomic error but this is news to me

Ryaquaza 1 SassyPaleoNerd on DeviantArt made a new skeletal of it lacking the gap entirely in replacement for a slightly curvy sail. When asked about lacking the slit, they said it was a taphonomic error. As of a new study I’m not sure, but I could certainly check if you’d like.

The actual reason is pretty cool. Whilst the flexible movement is indeed likely true, the mating isn't to far off, only it wasn't for males to hold onto, rather it was for a different animal. You see Icthyovenator would've been able to combine with Concavenator to form a super dinosaur, with Concavenator's spike-shaped hump slotting perfectly into Icthyovenator's gap thus allowing them to become the ultimate hunter. They were also devoloped by Doctor Doofenshmirtz, as his concavicthyo-inator

After looking at Icthyovenator, it's appears that the dip is located above the hip and that the vertical vertebrae is shorter and thinner. It's just suggestion but might this dip improve the creatures locomotion as a biped since if it had a spine like spinosaurus, bipedal movement at the hip would have been restricted by a almost fused spine. If so this would also explain why many other spinosaurus that are bipeds tend to have smaller spines whilst the larger spinosaurus walks in all fours.

Not gonna lie Sucho has gotten a bit boaring cause most of us use it in almost every park so it kinda gets tiering of having the same dino over and over again but its nice to have something else to change things up. Also I love the golden colouring of the wetland Sucho and its still the same with the wetland Ichthy.

@Joshua Knowles it could be but, we have little to no evidence of veins in the sail of the Spinosaurus. It could be that but it could be used for other things. Also it may make him lopsided when swimming or walking. But I like your hypothesis
