Aw man that was class. That happened to me a couple of months ago. I felt a right newbie. Great to see it happens to experienced guys like yourself as well. Don’t feel quite so embarrassed now. Great honest video.❤

Good video, I love a bit of pellet feeder and have the hookbait like you do having watched the Edge video as a member. Lucky to get the rod back, I always recommend Guru Reaper rear rest and/or Maver auto clasp rod at the front - saved me regularly.

“What a plonker” 😂 A couple of days ago at woodlands, I had 2 method rods with same set up and same distance cast. One with flavoured micros with scopex and one with unflavoured, the latter won 6-1. Was quite surprised by that result and will try with F1 sweet and krill. Next time with unflavoured and F1 and see which one does best.

my fave from the range is spicy shrimp and prawn, I always do well when I use it as a glug or soak my mesh bags in it the night before I get bankside

Squid brand "Fish Sauce" £2.40 for 725 ml, Sainsburys. Don't get sucked in by the "Tenner a Pop +" stuff from tackle shop !! 77% Fish (anchovies, no squid it says) 20% salt, 3% sugar.

Pleased to see you got your rod back, I’d have been straight in after it, I’ve been in Makins earlier in the year to retrieve pole sections that slid in when unpacking my kit, lessons learnt, slide the sections away from the water, not towards it and it’s much colder than it looks. Also would you be able to do a video featuring how you record these blogs, GoPro set up, audio etc.

Wow Rob, how lucky was it getting the rod back , surprised it hasn't towed left or right . I drive past that lake regularly whilst going to shearsby , might be worth a dabble . Ive got some rubber grip rear rests and im sure it wouldn't have happened with that .

I got hold of some Shrimp and Krill flavoured oil. I couldn't use it. The stink was so bad. I used bleach on my hands to get rid of the smell. Some maybe able to ignore the smell, so it would be interesting if it works.

I wish some one could tell me how the aroma we smell translates in the mucky pond water with all the inherent water movement.

Haha this was so funny.. Always enjoy your vids mate good to see you didn't edit out losing the rod👍Surprised you don't have sides on your reaper fishing at 90 degrees etc and those CTX (great rods) have such a thin cork handle the don't fit in any of the standard butt rest...Dangerous lol no room to even reach for your flask😆

On Robs videos I purposely look on his side trays looking for signs of any bait additive's not mentioned in the video. I haven't seen any signs of the F1 sweet for ages. For me F1 sweet is the only one! It's all down to the fish, watch underwater videos to see how many fish swim by without taking any notice of the bait.

i think a lot of of commercial match anglers are becoming one trick pony,s theres still a few all rounders but not many will raison probably would put the fear of god in some some of these carp puddle anglers
@davidcowburn102511 ай бұрын
Hi Rob, I like to see your tips and tricks but I'm afraid that I feel that this one is a hard sell for this flavouring and losing your rod was staged. Please don't try to treat us like idiots, you are too good to stoop to this. If this was a genuine video please accept my apologies.

Yeah, I definitely want to chuck an expensive rod and reel in the lake…. Lake water does your reels a world of good so I might start soaking all my reels after a session.

Agreed - (wouldn't give thanks for the reel but) £140 rod on a poor rest, on camera? I don't understand! As others have posted, Reapers front and rear (other makes are available). If like me you are easily distracted (ADHD) then back the clutch off a bit too.

If you don't want to loose those very expensive rods and reels change your front and back rod rests other wise you will be dipping into your piggy bank again.
