I was just thinking James and Helen! Do you realise that there will come a time when wherever you go, you are going to be recognised. Imagine this, i have watched, viewed, seen you both more than i have seen Elton John, McCartney, Rod Stewart and many other celebrities. It`s scary to think that i have more of an insight to you both than any other actor or actress. Your journey is more personal because you let the public in and you share your lives with us and you are fast becoming household names among your many friends and viewers. That lady was so overawed to bump into you that it made me realise just how many people watch your channel X.

Happy memories of Trenchers, used to take my elderly dad there and they always let us in to sit by the bar instead of standing up outside, which my father would have struggled with in the queque...great Halibut stake and fast service, always friendly staff there

Another excellent video. Not often. I have a laugh whilst washing pots. All times have been to Whitby and cant recall seeing it lit up at night. Looks great. You should have looked inside the church at the top of the steps. Only small but its quite unique with its pews all enclosed. Think it was so the wealthy could sit separately from the peasants. Keep having fun and keep sharing.😂

1st went to Trenchers in 1993 when I met my beloved, we stayed in Runswick bay, went several times and years later played football in the snow with our son on the beach at Whitby.

I agree with you James… plain crisps are the best. Own brand cheap ones are good but if I want to treat myself ( but only when they are on offer as they are expensive) I like Tyrell’s Naked crisps. They have no salt on them and I love them

It looks like a nice place .. especially in Summer when the weather is nice ( but it is probably packed right out ) .Cornwall is fantastic...... Accommodation for Cornwall should be booked earlier in the year though ! Toms Holidays self catering are good self catering bungalows / huts etc but quite expensive in peak season . I thought Helen´s bubbly nature really gave the video a lot of positive energy !

Eh up James and Helen good blog enjoyed your pub crawl in Whitby. I love Whitby in winter Best time to go. I lived there as a young kid up to 5 when my dad was a Whitby cop. I Think Trenchers are the best F&C in Whitby. And the restaurant is well laud out clean and not cramp. Your both so funny under the influence. Keep up the good work. Hi James, long time since I've been to Whitby, its such a lovely place, i couldn't manage those steps nowadays though..lol . I liked the pub you had your fish and chips in, the booths were nice , i would feel comfortable sat in there. Iv never had beef dripping on my fish and chips, you have me wanting to try some now. Helen is such a fun lady, im having a Guinness watching you both . I was in my favourite cafe today having pie... thanks again for a good laugh as usual. Debbie brid

I wouldn't want to walk passed all those graves at night time, I would in the day like you did but there's something about walking past graves in the dark 😂 Years ago I walked past a grave yard on the way home from a night out and there was no one else about and I thought I heard footsteps walking behind me and then when I turned around no one was there so I ran 😂

I would never go back inside the White Horse and Griffin after visiting it when it was briefly a museum. I got the most awful chill down my spine in 'the Shakespeare room', and fled down the stairs into the street, turned around and my boyfriend who was hot on my heels said "did you feel that too?". We went for a brandy at a different pub. In the evening we went on a Ghost walk and they took us outside the White Horse and Griffin and gave us all the ghost stories about it. We were totally sceptical before this...

I’ve always found that a lot of Fish & Chip shops sell greasy fish and chips. My personal favourite is Bells dine the traditional way in beef dripping just as I remember them from being a kid I’m now 75 a Yorkshire man living in the NE

Makes me laugh ! I work on marinas all over the country,was on one a few years ago where the fishing boats at Whitby were moored up ,, I asked someone on one ‘where do you lads get your fish and chips from ??? He said not from them that everyone waits outside at thinking there the best !!! We go to one on a housing estate over the other side , and that was from a local 🤦‍♂️

I do prefer Trenchers to Magpie Cafe. Both are good, but Trenchers edges it out on the food. Favorite pubs are the Quirky Den, The Black Horse and The Ship. We'll be back there in May for a few days! Bloody long flight from Idaho though!
