when i was 9 my mom had already owned a beta fish for about 13 years. the highlights of my childhood are spent feeding “Mr. Fish” (his name) and taking care of him. When he passed i begged my mom to buy a tiny coffin and she finally gave in 😂 He is still in my backyard to this day! UPDATE: I moved away from that house, the new owners have about 3-5 fish skeletons in their backyard (your welcome)

But in the winter I can’t dig up the ground, so I wrap them up in toilet paper and respectfully throw them away. I’ve had lots of fish, so I’ve had lots die too. My guppies got swim bladder while I was camping, and they passed, and some times fish die from stress… like when you bring them home or have to do a big water change. Some simply get old. one had a tumor (my betta) And other times I simply don’t know… I don’t even know how many fish I’ve had, (some were temporary rescue gold fish from a sick and messed up game that my summer camp did that I took home) also my fish have bred a lot and so I’ve had lots of baby fish too I hope that answers your questions for you 😊

Best way to remember you fallen fishy friend is to grab a pot, add 3 inches of soil, add your fish, fill the rest with soil and then put a plant inside, the nutrients from the decaying fish are amazingly beneficial for the plant and it will grow amazingly well

I remember when we were kids, my oldest brother tried to flush my mother's huge parrot cichlid when it died. It did not work, instead the toilet got so badly clogged that my dad had to get a drain snake to get the fish out of the pipes, but even then he couldn't get it out. Genuine question. How tf is one better than the other. One gets put into a dirt hole and gets eaten by bugs and worms and the other goes down a device that flushes waste. I did too, my fish Goldie I’ve had for 9 years of my life. When Goldie died I wouldn’t stop crying. It’s been almost two years without her and I miss her like she was an old friend. We dug her body in our yard next to my playhouse. I miss her so much and I love seeing fish on KZbin cause it reminds me of her.

I remember being 5 in 2000 and my aunt gave me a jar of fish from her fish tank. (Her tank was WAAAY over stocked) A couple of the fish were dead by morning and I was too Squamish to dig them out of the jar that I just flushed the whole jar that had like a dozen fish still alive in it. I’ve grown and now know how to properly care for fish, but I still feel terrible about it.

Relax, your parent not caring how they dispose of a dead fish does not make them a non loving family, y'all kids are dramatic, I'm a mom of a 7 year old girl and trust me y'all are a handful so just give your parents a break I'm sure they do the best for you, unless you are abusing and neglecting you then you def deserve better but if they do everything for you try not to hold it against them if they don't listen to everything you hear on TikTok us "older" people (I'm 33) we have certain ways of doing things and it's hard to change years of certain behavior but like I said if they do their best for you then try to give them a break💖
