The reason why the fhd charging time is faster might be because this higher end model is delivered with a 2A charger, while the cheaper version only has a 1A charger. You could try to charge the M8 HD with the M8 FHD charger and see if it charges faster too.

I bought the FHD version and am very satisfied with it. I can confirm it charges fully in about 4-5 hours with a charger that's at least 2A. In no way related to Lenovo, I can highly recommend this tablet for the priced offered.

Guys, I have both of these tablets I got the HD first and then I thought I updated to the FHD model. These are the same to me. i was bummed because i thought i would see a big difference. Nope the two were almost the same to me. Picture, sound gaming everything. and the HD does have better battery life and charges faster. Go figure?

The HD can't technically be charged faster because it has a slower charger.

@@dhilsiva NO I did not use the wrong charger. I have a lot of devices and i keep all the chargers with the devices that they came with. As I said I put both of them together and both my FHD and HD looked nice and crisp but, my HD looked nicer.. I see very little difference in charge up time .and very little difference in the two. As the reviewer said there is little difference, Both lenovos are good tablets and i like them both.

I have a Lenovo Smart Tab M8 like a year ago for my illiterate relatives who mainly watch stored videos, Google maps & play Candy Crushes and we still like it. We didn't really care about its Smart features, but the charging dock is really important for us after our previous tablet, the Blackberry Playbook got its charging port damaged and the manufacturer doesn't support this anymore. Despite having the same specs than the Tab M8, the Smart Tab M8 has dual speakers so its sound quality is great. Battery life is awesome, lasts the longest compared to our smartphones, and we used like 12 hours a day with fixed 75% brightness, so we just recharge it during the night. Performance isn't that great being a low-end tablet, but it easier to use for my relatives compared to our Windows PCs which are way more powerful.

the m8 hd version has a pretty good screen. Wins image quality with tabA 8 huawei M5. Lenovo has great black at level 0.21. Contrast above 1800 for example Huawei M5 has 680... M8 hd settings out of the box have a low red level in grayscale. In the settings we have to change to warm, standard. Unfortunately, the FHD version has not been tested with a colorimeter. We can't tell if it's as good as hd. Certainly this comparison does not explain it.

What is the reason for the Amazon Video or Netflix to not play video in Full HD ? Samsung Galaxy A 8" and 8.4" have screen resolution of 1280x800 and 1920x1200, and both have Full HD support on those 2 apps. Weird ?

widevine certification is only L3, it has to be L1 to play FHD content on those apps.

I had the 8 inch HD. It was good tablet until it went bad and I ordered the new lenovo duet to take its place. The duet is a much better chromebook tablet. I just love it! I also like and have the new Samsung 8.7 A tablet love it as well.

OK but... What is wrong? This is not random. I have a 8703f, Tab 3 8 plus. Loved it but, only 16gb internal but managed to cope. Then dropped it. Hairline crack on the screen, most of the time you cannot see any it but I know it's there and it annoys me... 16gb is not enough, that annoyed me too. Android 6, no updates from Lenovo but OK. So got a TB8704f, 4&64 that one Android 8. Brilliant. Zero faults..... but it got stolen. So I buy a TB8705f, it's got to be good, yes? Never been so disappointed! 1) touch sense screen isn't touch sensitive enough, sometimes you have to try way more than once. 2) slow.... slow. How can it be that slow? So far slower than the old P8 (I still have that despite the screen). 3) WiFi 'chip' inside? My phone Lenovo S5 (K520) fine, the old tab 3 8+ fine, the M8, zero. Side by side. Plus side, Secenn is spot on like the previous 2. Camera better... but I don't us a tab for camera! No. The Tab 8 4plus was way better. This is a step backwards

I really really want a 8" tablet, I'm mainly gonna use it for media and video watching so the resolution is one thing that I'm looking at. And today I'm using my phone with 400+ppi to watch videos and stuff. So I'm worried that I might be annoyed by a "only" hd screen. But I don't know if I actually will notice it. So what do you think? Can I go with something for my budget like the Lenovo tab m8 HD ( the fhd isn't available in Sweden) or Samsung Tab A 8". Or should o keep on saving upp for a iPad mini (in Sweden they are almost 500$)

Well you could always return it if you don't like the screen. The iPad mini will have better display but larger black bars on top and bottom when watching videos.

Will these devices' COD Mobile Gryoscope work? of course it should but I've ordered & returned an Amazon Fire HD and a Samsung Galaxy Tab A because the game, COD Mobile, wouldnt allow me to use their Gyroscopes. Reddit & Google articles & COD Mobile support all have no answer to make it work. I tried all of the suggestions from them to no avail. I'm considering purchasing an FHD but would really appreciate some confirmation that M8's COD Mobile Gyroscope works. Thanks!

Go for FHD. Screen size is your choice. Bigger may be better for online classes, but the 8 inch is nicely compact & crystal clear if you get the FHD variant.
