@@V.G.F. Since the U.S. is now flooded with Asian appliances it would be nice if LG or Samsung and Haier for that matter would implement that DD smart motor tech the way F&P uses/used it in their top load washers, I might consider an LG out of those 3.

F&p have just completely discontinued their toploaders they are now selling rebadged haiers with pulsators. They are still direct drive but use an electronic clutch like lg, I believe GE sold something very similar in the us. It’s such a same really but guess it probably wasn’t there decision.

​@@maxd4968That's not true lol. Fisher and Paykel still produces many of their own machine designs using the original Smart Drive mechanism and control system. However they sell their rebadged Haier machines alongside their own product line

This is the thing here in the UK because of space these type of machines we will never see and now in launderetts/laundromats it's front loaders, I rarely see any with top loaders like I did back in the early to mid 90s

I have the newest version of this which they still sell (WA7060G2) and its actually very different. Mine has the old drum with the ripples and the cycle times are shorter. the wash action on mine is also a bit differant it does longer and slower pulses.

If anyone is in need of the traditional style Fisher and Paykel like in the video I would get one while you can. They are now discontinued and being replaced by the horrible open drum style with the pulsator at the bottom and the spin speed is now a maximum 800 RPM. Disappointed that Haier would make such a stupid decision being how popular the agitator style machines are.

Not true. The agitator models are still sold alongside these new machines, although unfortunately they do have lower spin speeds.

@@LoganT547 Both Harvey Norman and Bing Lee have confirmed the agitator models are being phased out for the new models which are similar to parent company Haier models.

They aren’t the smart drive machines are gone. They are still on there website but aren’t being sold anywhere

also a little tip, on mine if you select regular, cold, eco rince, and auto and its a full load so it senses to high it activates a really aggressive wash action which is almost the same as the 10kgs. warm cold and auto high and eco is still slightly more aggressive then manually setting high but its not much differant. manual high is quite weak and I don't use it. Not sure if this will be the same but anyway.

Not a huge fan of the newer Fisher and Paykels. I’m waiting to on a potential new range soon as these haven’t changed since 2016. Do you have any intention on trying the new Westinghouse range. I’m heavily keen on it being the replacement to our Simpson in the future.

Don’t have any plans atm To get a new Westinghouse. We are considering the Heatpump dryer but that’s about it

@@mattie17 I would love a new dryer. A heat pump even better. I like the reverse feature on Westinghouse which isn’t as common on some.

They have just released some new models and they appear to be reskined pulsator Haiers 😭😭 really disappointed if I’m honest. Not sure if they will now discontinue the smart drive range? They are still on there website but they don’t seem be getting sold anywhere.

Nice! Although why is the acceleration curve so drawn out when the machine hits 800RPM or so? Seems like all of these newer machines have it for some reason

Can you just put some wet clothes into the machine (which were handwashed) and simply 'spin' - if so how?

Yes if you turn it on and press the Wash Advance button until just the spin is lit up then it will just do a spin cycle. The screen should read 10mins or so too
