Went out to fish for trout just before the season closed with ‪@MoreThanFishing‬ . It's been so long since I've fished the rivers, I almost forgot how much I miss fly fishing! This has inspired me to get back out there and get the dust off the old fly rod.

I will never forget that one episode of Trout fishing where you cooked it up and exclaimed how it was the best fish you’ve ever eaten. You couldn’t resist eating it while it was being cooked because that’s how good it was haha. This is why Trout episodes are my favourite! Thanks for making them for us ❤

For bear poop there’s an easy way to determine what is what and how to avoid them: Black bear poop will have bits of berries in it and black bears can be avoided by wearing little bells on your backpack so you don’t surprise them, or you can spray bear spray at them to scare them off. Grizzly bear poop can be recognized because it has little bells in it and it smells like bear spray.

That feeling you were trying to explain about catching a fish, cooking on the shore and reenergizing your energy.... I know exactly what you're talking about and it is indeed hard to explain....it's experiencing nature in its rawist form and proving to yourself that you have the knowledge, skills and abilities to survive in such a wild surrounding! It's one of the most purists feeling!

The feeling you had being in the wild. Catching fish and cooking it all up right there. Everything that you were describing there’s got to be a design. So many times we can even look at a painting, and we know that there is a creator behind it as an artist. I am believing that the Lord is going to meet you in such a special way, while you are out enjoying his creation.

Look at 8:53 isn't there a fish chasing something in the top of that sunken stone in the left corner of the picture? Around the middle of the frame, left corner. Its like two stone pilars sticking out into the pool, one stone is above water (the darker upper stone).. one stone is below water (the lower stone, with lighter colour) Looks so much like a fish splashing the surface chasing something between those rocks but just above that lower rock! Please tell me what you think? Could also only be water movement who knows?😅

The National Park Rangers are advising hikers in Glacier National Park and other Rocky Mountain parks to be alert for bears and take extra precautions to avoid an encounter. They advise park visitors to wear little bells on their clothes so they make noise when hiking. The bell noise allows bears to hear them coming from a distance and not be startled by a hiker accidentally sneaking up on them. This might cause a bear to charge. Visitors should also carry a pepper spray can just in case a bear is encountered. Spraying the pepper into the air will irritate the bear's sensitive nose and it will run away. It is also a good idea to keep an eye out for fresh bear scat so you have an idea if bears are in the area. People should be able to recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear scat. Black bear droppings are smaller and often contain berries, leaves, and possibly bits of fur. Grizzly bear droppings tend to contain small bells and smell of pepper.

13:11 I can say the same thing about my passion in photography, videography, screenwriting, directing, and editing (not through this channel, but through another one). A clothes designer can say something similar to this. A pest control professional can say the same thing. So I know what you are talking about. Something about being able know how to take a good photo of yourself, making your own videos, writing your own story and effectively directing actors and creatives to help manifest your vision after investing in learning about all of it. A lot of people can't do what I do, just like a lot of people can't do what you do or know what you know.

Matts, that sure looks like cow patties! Any open range cattle there? Matts, under every rock will be a fat trout, try to hit it before the sun hits the water, you will get the HOG of the hole. Matts @ 06:44 your shadow in on the water, nothing but dinks will hit when they can see your shadow. Just as in surf fishing and hitting the proper holes, you are missing the prime spots under those rocks, always place the bait above the rock, let the current take to over the rock and deliver it to the big one waiting. also check out the tail of the pool at each rock, I grew up fishing creeks like that and eating it over a tiny fire, some salt really helps.

You shouldn't have an issue with bears in California, i never have. This time of year i like to use grasshoppers. They are easy to catch and are everywhere up there.

I’m a bit disappointed that you didn’t bring your 10mm. I wouldn’t ever go up there without a gun. With that said, I can literally smell the pine watching this. I lived right at the base of the Sequoia National Park and fished up in the sierras most of my life. Only fly fishing though. Now I’m living in Utah and it’s a totally different world. I’ve been in Utah for a year and have managed to catch all my targeted species. Tiger, Brown, Rainbow, Brook, Cutthroat and even a Splake. My favorite was the fall colored up big Brooks I caught last month. Incredible fish. You should take a trip to south eastern Utah for some big stillwater trout.

Those are cow pies. I’ve had multiple black bear encounters in the Sierras over the years and most of the time they will run off unless feel threatened. The big pooty tats however are what I’m most concerned about when in the mountains. The old saying you may not have ever seen a mountain lion but they have seen you is true. carry when in the woods and learn how to safely pick a spot to build a campfire… The fire you built was a forest fire waiting to happen. Several wild land fires in the sierras were started just like that in recent years.
