The handle was solid and the extended handle was a nice touch. The reel is really clean, quiet, and it turn smoothly. It does feel a little heavy and it could be the reason why it felt solid. The one down side to the reel is the little polyurethane(not sure if it's made from it), nut get stuck when you remove the reel handle. The tackle, bait, and fishing line is a bonus for people who do not fish often.

Our traditional family knot - feed line through the loop twice. you then wrap 7 times + 1 "for the old timers who can't be here today due to various problems - most of them medical" as my granddad used to say. You then push it back through both holes and tighten w/ spit. The line will break before the knot will. It's very similar to the Berkley trilene knot but requires 2 extra wraps. My grandfather came up with that version of the knot many years ago and we have multiple family member with BASS trophies and have caught trophy fish all over the world with this knot. Everything from 2 pound cod to 54 pound king salmon.
