Great for bait collection and a little sad at the same time seeing so much washed up. Better freeze loads down might be hard to come by later in the year. More storms on the way

Great video mate those are Gaper clams or sometimes called soft shell clams good bait and good eating the big cockles with the red foot and almost spikey shell are King cockles. the old boys used to let the clams get a bit rank and use them as Dab bait. keep them coming mate

nice one, I have seen as you described black lug being washed out in a big sea, (black rain) free bait that night, also seen scores of sand eels on hot day coming out of the sand.

Cracking video mate ,loved the comedy with the teeth the pumping looks like hard work but satisfying to get you own bait especially at the price you quoted. Stay safe out there.

I got a lot of free bait last year during the dab open and there was lots of fish feeding that day too was surprised with all the shell fish bait washed in and loosened from the sea bed that I still had trebble shots of fish all day really want to try pumping for the blacks well done fellas
@philjames25424 жыл бұрын
Rhys, do you ever use the lug as freshouts and not squeeze the guts out of them. I've found ungutted lug fish better for codling usually, especially yellowtails.
@kevinbuckler10854 жыл бұрын
That was a real eye opener,never seen anything like that before. Just goes to show the power of the sea and nature .

I know most people gut the worms mate,But ive salted black lug before with the guts in,Yes a few explode when the salt goes on them,But 90% stay intact. and when you come to use them chuck them on the floor and they just firm back up,Each to their own n all that though..Nice vid after the storm and plenty of bait on that beach.
