The real question everyone should have is - did you EVER service your equipment? Did you EVER send a message to the manufacturer? Call him? Anything? No. You chose the low road for the sake of drama and try to trash a guy who sold you expensive early production products at a very reduced rate. Funny that you are literally the only person who's reported any problems that weren't easily resolved. Reels in the Bahamas, Alaska and all over Hawaii and you are having issues and just can't find the phone... I'm sure you'll delete this message. Whatever.

I fish with Nick, and have been using these reels along side with him for a little over a year. Within the first month we had our first issue where an internal screw popped out and we had to hand line the marlin in which took us a considerable amount of time. This required us to give the manufacturer a call and service the reel, no problem it got fixed. Was recommended that we use anti seize and got an ahi and screw popped off. No big deal but that reel did go out of commission on those two trips which cost us a lot of fish. We said this is a minor issue but it was costing us money. Over the next few months the reel would run pretty rough and didn’t work on a couple other trips, and would require servicing. During this time Nick did feature the reel many times on the channel. Within a year I seen nick take it apart and service the reel at least 4 times within a year and a half. Not sure how often other people service their reels but this seems a bit much. If you know us we take pride in how clean and care for the fish and gear. In the weeks leading up to this video Nick did contact the manufacturer but from what I understand was quoted over $500 for the parts for him to self service. I think that the rant in this video is just a build up of many frustrated trips, and these two in the video do rely on the income of the fish so you are seeing just raw frustration and not manufactured drama for financial gain. There is no gains here for anyone only losers. Very unfortunate and I wish it worked out but it didn’t. Hopefully we just got 2 lemons and other people are not experiencing similar issues. If the reels are working for great for everyone else I’m sure the reputation of the reels will speak for themselves more than a couple guys who had a bad experience. Anyone else want to share their experience? Maybe we got two lemons but I think you can be upset if you receive two lemons.

Delete the message! Haha I will pin it! You must be one of his boys. I had over 30 messages from people saying the reels are trash and have the same problem. Every one of my friends have the same issue. When you contact the manufacturer and they tell you $800 to rebuild when it’s one year old I’m out. I trashed the reel right after this trip. How much fish did it cost me that day? How much money out of my pocket? How many trips did this happen? I was frustrated that day and put it out there to air my frustration. If you want to make it like I’m really trying to blast him I would make a video on just trashing him and showing all the issues and messages from everyone. But if your company is so legit why would you change the name to Reaper Reels? I’m done with this already and don’t own any of those reels anymore. But if you really want me to air all the dirty laundry no problem. You let me know chief. 🤙

@ReelAdventuresHawaii you should look at the hookers.. don't tell your wife I said that... you fish up top.. so they would be fine. They are well made, but 6lb or better weights 1000 plus feet deep are for LPs.

for the gaff i was wondering if you could put one ergonomic triangle shape golf grip on it, so that you can index it correctly just by feel, or maybe put a reflective tape on the back side of the gaff to do the same, just visually. just a thought to make things easier.

What the chicken coup means Nick is that you spend more on chicken food than you ever did on eggs, but having chickens is fun, good for the kids and good for your garden with all their poop!
