Those are the best lakes to fish. Ones declared “dead” for a long while. Cause nobody fishes there or they do very sparsely so the fish have time to grow larger and reproduce

I had a friend say on Facebook recently that "ponds dont have fish", some of the best fishing I've seen was in small lakes. Some people just think different and that is okay. More pond fishing for myself.

I caught an 8lb common Carp on nightcrawler fishing between sections of the dock like you did. Been catching hybrids and striped bass a TON lately and can't wait till my dock starts loading with hybrids and big crappie, city lakes surprisingly have good fish if you can find them.

that lake is not dead! There are all kinds of species of fish in that lake. It's even stocked by the state for trout. A buddy of mine caught a beautiful Walleye out of Lake Luxembourg. The lake of more commonly known as Core Creek Park. It's a county park so if you want to go out on your boat you have to have a Bucks county lake boat launch permit. A state launching permit won't due. There's also a 18 foot boat limit on the lake. Of years fishing Core Creek I didn't know there were yellow perch. I've fished from that dock where you were catching them and never caught one. A lot of crappy in that lake, likely too many

I went fishing there a lot with my grandfather when I was younger back in the 80s. I caught a nice sized Carp there once while fishing along the banks. We also fished that spill way that goes in to the creek that's down the hill in back of the damn. There was a lot of spots my grandfather had along the different parking lot areas that we went to go fishing from. I fished off of that pier you were on too. We also fished a lot at the Chruchville Reservoir and Tyler State Park back then too.

From Northeast Philadelphia originally, but have lived in Bucks County the past 12 years. I’ve been fishing that dock since I was a little kid so it’s cool to see Leo fishing here. I’ve heard from many older gentlemen the bass used to be money at Core Creek. Not so much lately. The Large Mouth Bass Virus of 2013 is interesting, first I heard of that.

You made my day today. I live four miles from core creek park but never been there. I’m 70 yrs old and retired. I always fish in the Delaware river at station ave. I’ve been looking for a lake close to my house to fish for bass, catfish and bluegill. Do you have to pay to fish in the lake or just a pa. Fishing license? Also is there any special regulations like circle hooks etc? Do they sell bait there. Thanks very much.

hey Leo, I was just out there today. They have removed the one dock closest to the parking lot by pavilion 7 completely and part of the other dock further up the trail. Only caught on small crappie by the second dock. Just thought you would want to know about the wooden docks.

We get some nice perch up here in the Midwest but that big perch you got is a respectable perch even for up here! Way to go! Wonder if the population in that lake did die off and fish had less competition for food, resulting in bigger fish?

I go to lake Luxembourg to fish for stocked trout every winter. I love this lake. Also do you know how this bass virus spreads because I’ve noticed that a lot of bass have been dying in ponds around this lake. It may explain why all the fish died at my go to bass spot in that area.
@cocokitty2125 жыл бұрын
Most fish diseases spread directly by water so during rain, if runoff from the lake goes to another lake, it can infect the fish there, if someone gets bait from a diseased body of water and takes it somewhere else, it can infect the other body of water.

I've been wondering, why you don't start a fishing guide business. You certainly are a knowledgeable fisherman. I've seen you multi species fish all along the east coast...fresh and saltwater. I would pay to have you as my guide. I do have a question... Do snakehead bite in the current weather conditions? I have been scouting bodies of water(tributaries and lakes along the Delaware) that are seldomly frequented, that look promising. I just don't want to waste my time fishing for snakes if they don't bite when our temperatures are as they are presently.

I've been fishing this lake occasionally for 25 yrs and can say with full confidence that its is easily one the most unproductive bodies of water in the entire Delaware Valley. The main issue is although well stocked over the years with several different species of game fish, The Game Commission overstocked it numerous times with different types of bait fish. - Brilliant right? There is little to no interest in following a lure when there are massive schools of bait fish in many locations of the lake. Poor fishery management and the State should take steps to reverse this ASAP, Virus or no virus it's been a terrible place to fish for way to long. San's fishing a 10 x 15 spillway, it sucks.
