I bring an ultra light when I throw swim baits or glides, you can dangle a 1 inch gulp or epf swim in their face when they follow you in. Works 50% of the time and as far a fishing goes that’s a lot.

Looking for that 6in wacky, if you decide to throw it, spinning rod and make alot of cast letting it sink to the bottom if nothing hits it make a new kast, look for your line to pop on the surface as it sinks. Great around grass lines and patchy grass.

You should check out Shadow Cliffs in Pleasanton, the back lakes hold some giants, also the Stanley side of the lake holds some biggie too. Delle Calls in Livermore base some great small mouth as well as god large mouth fishing.

O rolled out on the water with all those rods looking like he was a ham radio operator.....I'm the same way...I;'m not tying on a dozen different baits I just bring a dozen different rods . When you have G-loomis, Fenwick St.croix and Sage just to name a few who could ever fish with just one or two rods.....NO WAY! I would have used some texas rigs with 10" worms or salamanders and SMOKED those bass ALL DAY. The rat lure was epic!
