I literally grew up on this lake from like 3 to 15ish years old. It was the first place my mom ever let me and my friends just run around at unsupervised…. Although it was the 90s and a lot safer back then. We used to chase around stripers, bass, bluegills and girls. A lot of good memories from this place. We used to fish the annual fishing derby, and I remember when the swimming area was actually in the lake. Literally flooded with memories. Thank you.

This lake will always be special for me. Grew up fishing there and really learned a lot from spending hours out there. Basically learned bass fishing on this lake. Thanks Greg

Hey Greg !!! Nice video! Contra Loma is tough, but spring time is decent!!! Gotta time it right though. One day it will be on fire, the very next it could be completely dead. Glad you came out to my home reservoir!!! My profile is actually my PB, which I caught at Contra Loma. I have a few videos on my page from there. I also caught a 10 lb trout!!!! There’s also striper in there. Saw three get pulled out of there in October, all around 12-15 pounds. The bait that works for me the best there is definitely a senko. The secret........ deadstick it! Cast it out and let it sit for a bit. My buddy caught a 4-5 lber, and my other buddy caught 15 fish in a day!! Good luck out there bro. Definitely recommend coming in the spring time!

Greg if you ever catch yourself fishing in the bay area again the open waters by the antioch bridge have some huuuuge striper lurking. I've caught 15+ pounders there. it might be pretty sketchy for a kayak though. Though I have seen people out there on their kayaks. It's just sketchy due to it being the main shipping channel.
